Cyberpunk 2077 by CD Projekt Red was one of the worst disasters gaming has ever seen. But with the release of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, people seem willing to forgive and forget. So I think it’s a good idea to go through the real history of Cyberpunk and see how deserving they are of redemption.

  1. The show just proves how good cyberpunk 2077 really was. Mechanically it was pretty bad. I didn't get a refund cuz I know game devs gotta patch their game. What broke others mentally created my experiences

  2. As a game dev myself. I think the negative criticism this game gets is solely based on ignorance around the complexities of what they tried to create here. They might have not achieved the full vision, but seeing that this is a “from the scratch” product, it is severely under appreciated, no one realises just how many bars this game has set for the industry. I just think gaming critique started dying after social media rage became prominent, and I’ll never participate in it.

  3. im still pissed about all the missing features they promised before launch the game might be good at this point and i did love the anime but my trust for them is 100% gone since that was my first real experience with a cdpr title.

  4. Thank yoy for putting in that end message to always be apprehensive of how the mistakes of these triple A companies keep getting swept under the rug by consumers, that's the one thing that rubs me the wrong way about the monumental success of Edgerunners and how more and more people seem to have just completely forgotten about the shitshow it was un release and the sheer amount of lies that CDPR has thrown at us. If we let them then they absolutely will do it again, and seems like CDPR has already started to forget their lesson after announcing like 5 games back to back. Like Jesus did they learn absolutely nothing about overpromising and overhyping in the past 3 years?

  5. Gonna be honest and say the anime was OK. It wasn’t great or even better than cyberpunk 2077 narrative. They are about the same as one does stuff better than the other and vice versa. If you go into side quests of cyberpunk 2077 you get some of the best storytelling ever told, while the main game kinda sucks and bleeds ludonarrative dissonance. And trust me, I like anime (well some that are really good) and while trigger managed to impress me this time, lately they kinda suck at storytelling. I do think people should keep in mind the deceit these companies pull and not just cdpr. Ive been saying this stuff for years and people still fall for shitty pieces of media, but would rather pull the wool over their eyes than to face the reality. You make a good point here, though if your gonna throw CDPR under the bus then you gotta put others as well. (Activision/Blizzard, Bethesda, EA, Ubisoft, Etc.)

  6. Listen here i haven’t watched the full video yet but to me this game is probably one of the greatest games I’ve ever played despite its technical flaws and you will not change my mind but this looks entertaining

    This is a good video

  7. Personally I have a sneaking suspicion that Cyberpunk to CD is what Battlefront 2 was to EA. A disastrous launch that damages the company enough that we'll see the next witcher game or cyberpunk sequel come out with a significant effort to improve goodwill back with the community, a la star wars squadrons or Jedi Fallen order, then, once one of those games releases and does well, they'll slip back into old habits and make the same mistakes again, albeit in a more subdued form for a while. Companies seem to take such a long time to change, I'll be very surprised if these problems don't go away. At the very least, my optimism hopes that they'll learn their lesson long enough for their employees to get a bit of well deserved respite.

  8. I love your case study type of videos . Every time I start to watch your video I finish it completely, even if I take breaks here and there. The way you comeup with script , I think it is quite amazing. Because like most other people I don,t like to watch long videos because my attention span is small. But some how (with your skills) you manage to hold my attention span for so long time which is very impressive to me.

My man this is why l love your content, just spitting facts like it is no one's business.
Just hearing you say that line made me to leave this comment.

  10. {struggling to type} " A man with an unpronounceable name." I nearly choked…ROTFL You know your strengths. Love to see it. And quite seriously an excellent video, thank you. A great breakdown of a sorry saga. Let's hope things improve. I have heard the Co-Founder is leaving ( though doubtless with a huge golden parachute.)

  11. 32:32 I actually think cyberpunk is one of the most RPG RPGs ever, by the actual definition of roleplaying game. A lot of gamers think an RPG is just a game with levelling up and equipment and other stuff like that, but when compared to the TTRPG it was based on, cyberpunk is remarkably close considering the inherent limitations of video games compared to TTRPGs.

  12. I know cyberpunk was sold to us as a lie and on launch and months after was kinda getting what it deserved.

But damn I love this game, I bought it day one and never really didn’t love it. I get the dislike people have to it but undeserved redemption or not I’m so glad to see people coming to it and liking it now and being able to speak about my love for the game without getting badgered by know it all a holes who can’t stand people enjoying things
