Today we talk about the recent leak coming from a Quantic Lab whistleblower to Upper Echelon Gamers around Cyberpunk 2077. This leak suggests that poor QA may have been a major contributing factor to the launch disaster of Cyberpunk 2077.

Tbh some videos and reviews at launch were so funny, it kinda made up for the disappointment for me
Cyberpunk is the biggest missed opportunity in gaming history. Imagine if CDPR did deliver on their promises instead of slowly walking back features until removing the RPG tag from all of the game's social media pages, imagine how great that would've been. 3rd person cutscenes? Nope. Deployable owned drone? Nope. Being able to modify our cars, even change color? Nope. Any meaningful branching in the story? Nope, more than 80% of the dialogues have no effect on the story direction. The list goes on and on. I still enjoy playing the game, but the thought that it could've been so much better always makes me kinda sad.
As consumers, all we see is the broken mess, but I have no doubt that creating a futuristic open-world interactive experience is incredibly difficult. They shouldn't make promises they can't keep, that's all. Technology wasn't there yet..
i think this is all rather funny as when i had bought it on xbox at launch i didnt get a single bug till near the end with the tank but it was fixed rather simply
Still doesn't explain the police system tho 😅 they hudini …
I love your content, man.
But I will never believe for a millisecond that CDPR is not to blame. And this "new development" reeks to high heaven of "look guys, we're innocent".
Like seriously, you believe CDPR had no in-house QA, or that they only outsourced that to a single company?
Here we go yet another video assigning blame to anyone but the CDPR devs.
CDPR was in over their heads
I'm I the only one who had a original Xbox 1 on launch and didn't have problem with crashing or bugs.
Can confirm used to work for VMC as a remote tester im still under NDA for all projects i worked on but these NDA are usually life of the company you can say i worked at this company who are credited for qa on X,Y,Z games
As if the developers never played their own game. If a random player can notice these bugs in 10 min of gameplay than the devs couldnt???!!!??? give me a break!!! Sounds like red project is trying to weasle out of the responsibility for releasing a game with half the promised content and bugs so obvious everyone noticed IMERDIATELY in the first 10min of gameplay!!! Lokks like red project wants to sell its next game by lieing to the customers again! They havnt learned a thing!
I feel like the community needs to take some of the blame for this. Sending death threats to developers is not a good way to ensure that a product is released when it's done instead of far too early.
nope they werent! they could have pushed the release day a year and choose not to release an unfinished game. They chose to cash into the hype they created instead. Not careing for the consequences. Money was more important than integrety. And now they try to weasle out of the responsebilty again! As if they never played the game themselves! just blame it on the other company! Thats the way to go!…..Sopunds to me they want to find excuses so people who are disappointed will buy their next game and players wont boycot it. I will never buy a game by red project before release again. A lesson learned. My money they wont get, unless they prove that their games hold up to their promises, easy! And that red project didnt know aboput hte missing content and the bugs is a plain lie! If a normal player notices these bugs in 10min than the devs knew them as well!!!!! STOP LIEING TO THE CUSTOMERS RED PROJECT!!! I hate people who lie!
Time to look ahead.
It's very common when hiring vendors that this type of bait and switch happens, it's up to the hiring company to put pressure on, unless the vendor is never going to work with CDPR again.
I think it really falls on CDPR, it's not just that it was buggy, the promised features vs what was delivered (even now) are still very different.
CDPR blaming others for their own failures and lies, film at 11.
I didn't even beat half the game and I was like meh. untill it works absolutely perfect I'll play it.
still had to fit “crazy new update” in the title somehow
We tend to forget that this was during the “work at home” period as well where even communicating these bugs and the severity of them was harder due to everyone working in isolation instead of being able to show your team first hand what you’re talking about and really understanding what really desperately needs fixing versus what needs to be fixed eventually. And then quality assurance reporting 10×30 = 300 new bugs a day for the sake of reporting a number of minor bugs and not even trying to get to the major ones, then that couldn’t have been very helpful.
Literally almost nothing has changed on last gen, they said they would fix it and they haven’t, and it should of never been falsely marketed. They cashed in and moved most of the dev team to other projects. Cd lost a customer till cyberpunk is fixed.
Blaming now like kids on other ppl xD KeKW
What mods do you recommend for performance such as frame rate etc?
At this point CDPR should put a bullet in the project’s head & pass it off to the Cyberpunk modding community to make it up for their promises.
Cause quite honestly the sooner CDPR drop this game & move on, the better and then they can let the awesome Cyberpunk modding community Discord take over & deliver the deep immersive cyberpunk RPG experience promised at E3 2018.
Agree?
It’s a shame I’ve waited eight years only to be disappointed and see the fanbase divided
Oh cool – so it sounds like CDPR should have delayed the broken and buggy game that they knew was broken, buggy, and missing half the features and gameplay it promised to have in it. Thats still their fault and its the same criticism their consumers had of them in the first place.
I won't point fingers at anyone besides CDPR execs. They are the ones who refused to delay the game, allowed it to be released, and the garbage inferno that came afterwards was, and still is, justified. They went from showing what COULD be possible with triple-A games, to what DOES happen to pretty much EVERY triple-A game. It gets overhyped, underdeveloped, released in, essentially, a Beta, and then abandoned because they made their prerelease sales and day-1 sales.
Personally CDPR dropped the ball , it doesn't matter what inhouse issues that did or didn't have , at the end they knew the state of the product and still released it , I probably won't buy nor play any future games from them , they did an EA "move" .
Im not mad about the performance or the bugs as much as just teh lack of promised features and stuff to do in the game game.
The entire story and side quests in game were cut by 2/3 of the planned content and pathways you could do and have changes in the game world.
Its just lacking and needed another year or 2.
Maybe one day gaming companies will take their products as seriously as their customers do. Unless some customers enjoy sleeping under their desks or requiring to pay for the DLC to get the wheels that didn't come with their car. My comment not make sense? Good, neither does the gaming industry.
I mean it still paints CDPR as hilariously incompetent because no company in any way shape or form would blindly accept a contractor's quality-audit of their systems and not have their own QA team check on it, I'm not in the game industry but I am a quality engineer and I know how QA systems work, no fucking way does a company like CDPR not have their own QA group testing their own stuff.
This one is fake, you telling me cdpr didn't launch the game not even once to see how busted it was? Please lol
It's funny that after all the BS, the bugs, the issues, the problems, the brokenness… I still drop into night city for 2-3 hours every few days.
Cyberpunk 1821
So this explains the bugs but doesn't explain the cut content
Did QA have anything to do with the lie about 3 life paths?
Did QA have anything to do with the boring story line?
Did QA have anything to do with a lifeless city?
Did QA have anything to do with police that make no sense what so ever?
Did QA have anything to do with the AI being dummer than AI in Skyrim?
Did QA have anything to do with the lie about a visceral city where you can talk to every NPC?
Did QA have anything to do with yet another lie about this being an adult oriented game which a video was shown where female V is crawling out of bed… okay this is turning into more of a statement than a question anyway. CDPR is a disreputable company that threw a POS into everyone's face and called it a game. They delivered nothing, it's worse than trash and now they make excuses for their complete and total failure. Cyberpunk was the most anticipated game of decades, now CDPRipoff is the most anticipated game manufacturer to cease operating because they did what they did. We don't accept their empty BS apologies or their BS lies, which seem to be a monthly event for them to do these days.
It's sad that NDA non disclosure agreements are mainly being used to hide companies incompetence and wrong doings.
