Preem stealth and AAA voice acting, packaged in on Cyberpunk 2077 stream.

Cyberpunk 2077 is an open-world RPG that I have co-created. As I love talking about design, storytelling, and psychology in games, I have started streaming on Twitch and discussing it all with my audience.

My goal is to share everything I have learned over a decade in the AAA games industry, openly exchange ideas, explain creative decisions and encourage the next generation of game designers and storytellers to create.

  1. Great to see another Cyberpunk Stream. I have question Regarding Random encounters in Open im wondering if the open world team or quest design team would work on them and how expensive are they to make? In exsample Types you would see in Skyrim for exsample more so handcrafted ones. Also were quests in Cyberpunk harder to design then the ones in cyberpunk?

  2. Thank you for the stream! Always a pleasure to visit!
I guess lots of people are there for pure gameplay, but I just wanted to say I appreciate the longer Q&A sections too, they're always interesting to listen to 🙂

Have a nice week, Pawel and everyone! 💛

  3. Hello Pawel. All this ray tracing and reflections are beautiful. I’m wondering why we do not see V in any of it? I was walking down night city in 1st person, driving in first having the most immersive gameplay last night and then I walked past some glass windows and didn’t see myself in a glass reflection or walking by stuff. Maybe this will be something that can be added in to really fully commit to 1st person, or maybe we could get that 3rd person 🙂

  4. 59:28 that whole section was a beautiful analogy, from real life to Cyberpunk story. I get why people want a happy ending for V or Lucy, but the fundemental point of a Cyberpunk story is more about the journey, the impact you make on others, and the sense of tragedy you dont really see in other genres. This is not a hero story, this a story of someone who wants to be the hero, but the reality hits and youre just another body among millions of other people.

Ps. 1st person perspective was a fvcking great choice, hope you stick to that in future Cyberpunk games. From facial animations to immersion , it is on point.

  5. Oh snap, I was on the stream. Taking the chance since my question wasn't answered, during development was there any conversation of having more than two romance options for both male and female v? Also, (from a player perspective) how would you feel if the studio decided to use v for future sequels like a mass effect trilogy story telling?

  6. Very interesting regarding the endings. In Witcher 3 you can get a happy ending. But with Cyberpunk its really about who V becomes as person. Its really intresting As Cyberpunk and RDR2 seem to be the only games that Explore this and I think The question of what you would do if you were facing your own death is really Interesting to explore. One thing With Games Like Witcher 3 and GTA5 were you can have a good ending I feel Like it can take away from an impactful story. GTA4 had two ending that were basicaly both bad. If The last of us had a choice in its ending I do not think it would have the same impact. Fallout New vegas has lots ending that each have postives and negatives. I think the question is Do you risk Story telling for more choice to the player or do you make a more linear story that is more impactful. it obviously varies on if you have a game that needs to have a powerful story VS a game that may be more light hearted.

  8. I have multiple playthroughs of the game already but yesterday an unexpected find in my current save really wowed me again:

During Heroes quest when V and Misty are in the garage, after I have had the conversation with Misty in the room with Jackie’s mandala and commented on everything in the room, I left the room (not the entire garage) first and was about to pick up the book for the offerenda. This time, I just suddenly decided to turn around and look at Misty and I discovered that as she walked out of the room, she walked slowly and had her eyes fixed on Jackie’s mandala, and just before she was really about to step out of the room, she paused and took one last good look at Jackie’s room before leaving.

I realized that in every one of my previous playthrough Misty would do this without drawing V’s attention, and that’s quite understandable since she hasn’t been in the garage at least since Jackie died, so she probably needs a moment for herself. The way she walked out of that room was so subtle and felt so real. Not a word was said but I felt like I was really in that garage and could empathize with a real person who has lost a loved one. I think it probably would’ve been a good demonstration of Misty’s feeling had the game let her leave the room first and lock the player in place to observe her, but it was probably made even more realistic because it was something that Misty would do without being observed by the player, maybe it’s even something that she intentionally wants to keep to herself. Very subtle but masterful work.

  9. Hallo Pawel, please consider, if not something else is planed, making a Nvidia Remix Update for Witcher 1 & 2. I am sure Nvidia would support that.

For Cyberpunk I have these wishes additional to the announced police chase and vehicle combat system.

    – A vignette toggle for stealth in the menu, on top of my OLED black areas it makes sneaking in dark areas hard.
    – A flashlight
