  1. That illusion of choice bit is why I'm not holding my breath for Starfield. I saw a lot (well, some) of hype for the last dev diary, with the whole "you can ask your companions to speak for you, but you have to live with the consequences" bit. But, I mean, with Bethesda's low focus on writing? I imagine the consequences are like… I have to spend eight seconds fighting someone my companion lied to/pissed off somewhere down my playthrough. And that's it. Hope I'm wrong, but… it's Bethesda. Once lack of choices and consequences are in a game, that's baked in. No patch is gonna fix that.

  2. I tried to play it not too long ago but it was too buggy and hastily made it really made my experience poor and I lost interest. It’s still incredibly half assed unfortunately 🙁

  3. Lifepaths are just misunderstood and marketed incorrectly. The lifepaths are a basis for roleplaying: ever notice how there is gear, apartments, ending choices, and even romanceable characters that are seemingly befitting more of a Corpo, Street Kid, or Nomad? Anyway, I liked them.

I think the "illusion of choice" criticism is overblown. Every major side quest has two-four endings that can often influence the end-game consequences. It's the main quest that could have had a few more branching paths in certain points (Evelyn and the Hellman missions stand out as solid examples). Overall, it isn't Mass Effect 2, but there are a ton of choices including ones that are gameplay-dependent and not listed in the UI.

The biggest problem is that the crowd AI is just plain not good. It's occasionally quite glaringly bad; like when a long line of cars still can't drive around your parked vehicle even though there's clearly space to do so. NPC's still typically aren't smart enough to do anything interesting once you interrupt their one script.

  4. I spent 90+ hours as a Nomad.
I'm about to start as a Corpo next.
I really like this game. Some missions seem like a 10/10 for me.
For me this is my game of year for 2020. I get that the size of the map can be overwhelming for some people and that it would be nice to fill it with more missions, but I've really enjoyed it.
I REALLY WANT to see this game with a 3rd Person option or a sequel in 3rd Person.

  5. It was fun to play, I don't remember there being any hub towns, nor do I remember interaction or dialogue with any NPC's outside of quests. I don't really understand why the city is open ended when there was nothing to explore, you kind of just drive around and there's nothing to see or do, so you start up a new quest or side quest.. really weird game.

  6. While there's no excuse for how the game launched the game has now hit a point where it's underrated. The first person cinematography is great, the combat is satisfying and at it's best, Cyberpunk is still CDPR at it's best. Sinnerman is one of the best quests they've ever done.

  7. I hated the bugs. It made everyone ignore the glaring problems the game had. Like the illusion of choice, the restricting story, lack of role playing features. Watching the anime really made me want to play the game again, but after a few hours that novelty wore off.

CP2077 is basically a better presented fallout 4.

  8. It's a good game. It's just not the great game we all had hoped for. It also left a lot of early adopters feeling burnt so it will never get the mass acceptance on it's improvements because of the bad taste left in a lot of people's mouths.

  9. Even with the ways I think they can easily flesh it out, I love this game. Hopefully by phantom liberty there will be quite a great package on the whole. Life paths would be fine as they are, for me, it just felt like they hyped it up into being something it wasn't.

  10. The game has been a GREAT time, yeah it certainly has its bugs and glitches but… what game doesn't. Like Matty has mentioned, they've definitely pushed the line a tad, especially at launch but I highly recommend anybody to give this game a go–

  12. I finally purchased it and installed it after refusing to even try it since release because of all the bullshit and lies and such…… Gotta say I don't see what the hype even is now. Man I was so hyped for this pre release because I was a huge CDPR fan and have 100% every Witcher game and 3 may be the best RPG ever made imo. Granted I'm only about 3 hours in and the story is actually compelling when I can understand what the hell is going on. However under the surface of the main story so far there seems to be nothing. The city is cool looking I guess aside from the frame rate issues and the glitching of cars disappearing or people doing odd things or also disappearing but there is nothing to do from what I can tell. The driving sucks ass no question about that. The gunplay is pretty good though enemies taking ridiculous amounts of damage is silly to me and kinda ruins the immersion. Armor/clothes so far are poorly designed imo. I don't know man I want to love this game because the setting and story so far is pretty awesome but the game as a whole still feels like an unfinished product and it's been 2 years. Playing on Series X btw and the fact that just being stable is acceptable is hilarious. Anyways got it for $30 trying to decide if I'm even gonna finish it or move on to something else. Sad day to say that I'd almost rather play the new COD than an RPG (my fav game genre).

  13. Going to give this a try when i have a free weekend sometimes, it being a game that's possible to complete in 2-3 days is a big plus for me as a family man with limited time to dive into something.

  14. Nowadays, it’s a treat to be able to load into a game and just play .. no watching lengthy cut scenes, quick time events, nonsense like that .. rhe game is so streamlined it’s just so much fun to play.. rhe combat is amazing, the main quests and side stuff is all top tier .. of course it isn’t perfect, but for my money, it’s about as good as an open world game can get
