my ears bleed every time i hear female v
Awesome Video, Thank You.
i felt like my guts got blended after the tower ending.
41:39 but that's just a theory, A GAME THEORY. Thanks for watching 😀
I've played all of them and gotto say, the Path of least resistance is actualy not the worst. V said so themself, least People Die this way and V gets to decide at least, unlike in the Devil and PL ending wich breaks both their Body and Spirit. The only upside to the new ending is Silverhands speech, fianlly calling V by their Name and while sad, he at least can accept whats happening to them both…still I hate this ending the most out of all of them, seing it as a betrayal of everything that V wanted, fought for and deserved.
The Star is the ONLY ending….fight me. You get to leave NC, escaping the "No happy ending in NC" curse, 6 months to live but thats only what Alt thinks and not proven, Judy is happy in the end slide and that alone is worth everything (personal opinion) but the very best is, especialy with PL finished and Songbird save on the Moon, a possibillity for a good outcome after credits, even if thats just my hopefull little fanfic brain going amok
All in all I agree with the List and would only but the new ending as the worst, keeping the rest intact
I really like that the two worst endings are a result of you just powering through the main quest. Only through slowing down and caring about people can you really have any shot or any closure.
I don't like scripted endings. Makes me feel my choice was pointless. That's why I will never even try the aldocados ending. Because Saul. As of now solo is the only ending I'm willing to play.
who really cares about Saul though
I honestly don't want V to be the protagonist of the next game. Male V was great but female V i couldn't stand. I could never unhear Makoto Nijima. She was the most unthreatening and unintelligent character of the bunch. Every time she tried intimidating ppl i just laughed out loud. All i could hear was a preppy school girl trying to sound tough and by god. She never once sounded tough. I did a bunch of playthroughs only to find male V was just infinitely more enjoyable to play as. Also, Imo, none of the endings were particularly good for me cause in the end no matter what you do the result doesn't ever change. Just minor variations of the same ending 10x over. I get that's the whole point of it but from a gameplay perspective, considering how stupid the plot was and how the tnire plot was held up by liquid glue and chewed up gum, it doesn't inspire me to play through the game any more. I gotta go thru the same dumb ass story over and over again for an ending I already know will be exactly the same no matter what i do. V dies. But it's not even in an interesting way either. It's just, V dies cause there isn't enough of V left to…fix V…which is so stupid considering how you're literally perfectly normal and yourself throughout the entire game and even during those six months you usually have left to live. It makes no sense. Everything about the plot was so stupid. The writers put zero effort into this game's story. They wanted a cheap and quick pay off to everything and didn't want to work for any of it. Either that or they didn't have the time to get themselves out of the dozens of not hundreds of holes they wrote themselves into. Even if we ignore CP R or any external CP lore, in a vacuum, CP2077 is still dumb as all hell. PL was much more interesting but goes right back to the same stupid cop out the main plotline did. "We're too uncreative to have actually varied and interesting, distinguished endings so all roads basically lead to the same shitty outcomes" Honestly Johnny is the worst aspect of this game because his inclusion into the plot just demolished any writing potential this game could ever have. I'm so over V and im over Johnny. His character was dumb and cheaply motivated. There were sometimes where the interactions between him and V were genuinely fantastic but over all, He's literally nothing more than a cheap, empty plot device that amounts to nothing more than "You died of Cancer (read: Johnny)" V is just as bad cause the writers decided to just completely skip all of the most interesting parts of the game (The life paths, all their time with Jacky) and rushed to the most vapid parts of it. They literally threw the set up out the window and went straight into the second act without even having a proper first Act. CP2077 should have honestly been the sequel. The writing still would have held it back significantly but at least it wouldn't feel as vapid as it does now had they actually given us a fleshed out act 1.
TL;DR – God no please fking kill V and give us a better protagonist/Story line for next game. And I hope they take 15-20 years to make this game cause god damn clearly 10 wasn't enough for them.
One thing that I would also point out in the easy way out. You don't kill several hundred arasaka guards and employees either. It's not just your friends that matter
The tower ending you hear from the cll woth takamura that hanako dies as well
Best End for me is the Panam End
Going with Don’t Fear the Reaper storming through the front door of the tower just you and Johnny like a real legend and solo Morgan don’t have nothing on me 😂
I’ll say the reason I like Don’t Fear The Reaper ending the most is predominately gameplay wise, not so much story wise.
For me the Star is the best because , there's no good ending in Night City , that's why you have to leave it
I think that Don't Fear The Reaper pretty easily wins best ending for pure gameplay given that it skips over all of the prep and jumps straight into the action, which is easily the most difficult test of combat prowess that Cyberpunk has to offer. That being said, The Star is the best ending as far as development for V goes.
I think that The Sun ending is the ending that V at the start of the game would've chosen. They become a legend, obtain massive success, and go on the mission of a lifetime to either save their life or die in a supernova the likes of which the world has never seen before. In The Star, however, I think V matures and recognizes that going out in a blaze of glory is still going out, and sees the amount of value in their relationships and chooses to embrace their people over their ego. It's the ending that grants V the most development across the game, and compared to the others, it's the most hopeful one for sure. You can't get an outright good ending, a hopeful one is pretty good too.
street kid + dont fear the reaper best ending
For me "Don't fear the reaper" should've give the player to choose the ending he/she wants as a reward. Something like choosing between 2 or 3 options :
– go back to the aldecados
– king of Afterlife
– …
That would have been my n°1 ending of them all. The fun gameplay of Fear the reaper + Panam ending 👌
Personally, I think:
7) Devil
6) Suicide
5) The Tower
4) The Sun
3) The Stars
2) Temperance
1) Don't Fear the Reaper
V got their second chance the moment the relic revived them and brought them back from the dead. After that they are just chasing an illusion and trying to cheat death a third time around. Alf even warns you about it.
“You believe you have cheated death, it is death that has cheated you”
In the tower ending they get their wish but lose everything that made them who they used to be. Ironically V does to themselves exactly what they were trying to avoid all this time by letting Johnny overwrite them. You are no longer able to live life on your terms since chrome is no go, you condemn somebody else to a fate were they will spend whatever is left of them never knowing who they once were, you erase Johnny and everyone who ever meant something to you has moved on.
I could not agree more with this list. I believe after doing every ending, The Star ending just gives V the most hope for the future (while not wanting to be a npc like in the cure ending). Even if V is sentenced to death with at most 6 months left to live i would just rather die while being sorounded by the people i love being able to help them even in a little bit in these 6 months than just die with noone close to me.
I bet the guy romances would be a bit more popular if they did not lock them to the near endgame. Seriously, romancing Kerry is a fun, wild ride but fuck, it's so far into the game, you might as well not know it's there.
The Star is great, only if it wasn't bugged and at the time I'm writing this completely hardlocks the progress on the PC version when you drive the basilisk into the tunnel.
the Star is far and away best and most hopeful ending imo, especially as a nomad V. it brings that V's background full circle, losing their clan, family, and then friends in the prologue to get to go home with a new family and new friends in the end. its also the only ending where panam's story arc gets resolved and she steps up as leader of the aldecaldos. and if you romanced judy, it's the only ending (save the new one) that she gets a happy ending where she leaves night city behind, and will have friends and a support network if V does die. V may survive or they may die in 6 mo, but they do so on their terms, free, surrounded by friends and loved ones. and that, either way, feels better than most all the other endings for me
The Devil ending is unironically my favorite. It's easily the most grim, but I also think it's the best written, and the most thematically impactful in terms of showing the power and horror that these massive corporations actually wield over the lives of others. I also like that if you reject Arasaka's final contract it's one of the only outcomes where the real V actually survives and chooses to live out their final days on their own terms, and isn't casually replaced by a copy from Alt which everyone just kind of glosses over.
didnt know u were gay
I think in the moment the Star ending feels the happiest, especially if you also weigh in the ending messages, however I've become a really big fan of the Temperance ending lately because its the only ending where neither V nor Johnny are doomed. Considering it was already possible to transfer Johnnys engram onto a Relic there is a theoretical chance it can be done once again with V if a new Relic is aquired. So that way you could have some Headcanon where after the game Johnnys mission would be to aquire said tech and contact Alt again in Order to bring V back to Life (Alt even tells V that she thinks its the best option if V goes with her).
Of course V still loses their Soul this way due to Soulkiller but apart from the Tower ending there really isnt a way around this and Johnny's engram also still feels quite "complete" despite him also losing his Soul a long time ago.
Plus You can get this Ending with the Secret Ending meaning none of our beloved characters have to die this way.
As always, a terrific video that gives me lots to consider. I too think The Star ending is best. It gives V at least a few months where they're with family and friends, away from Night City. It also has enough hints about the possibilities to find a cure that don't require Arasaka or NightCorp. Panam mentions "connections with nomads," which could include the secretive Technomancers clan and StormTech. The Reaper ending to me is one where you accept that it's a suicide mission that you won't survive. If you survive, you're legend. If you died, well, you die alone but leaving your friends alive. I'm very interested to see what your theories regarding curing V are, and if they line up with mine
I wholly agree with your ranking. Even matches my own. I have fully played this game too many times now and done all the endings but, after all of my hours of play, I now always pick star. Only one that lets you keep what you fought for while giving hoper to the future.
I fully disagree with him on the default ending he's worg about it because if cdpr did be lazy it's the best ending to roll into phantom liberty now I think the worst endings are letting jhonny handle it or v kills themselves and dnt fear the reappear is a gd one butt the ways its unlocked is stupid we should be able to go to the tower and Tigger it butg no more lazy buy cdpr and in honestly alt arasaka they botth full of shit botth lieing to v and jhonny is main villain
If I may ask, what's the name of the song you used in the backround at the start of the 'temperance' ending, it sounds soul renewing
Friends and family are nice but I just want to do as much damage to the corps as possible >.>
You forgot to add that rogue also adopt the pets in the PL ending.
Aldecaldo ending is the only ending I count as canon. I accept no other.
It not about the glory, it's about If i gotta die, rather fall into my grave gun in hand and on fire. And not drag anyone with me.
Fricking hated the Suicide. Thought I might get an achievement (morbid curiosity is probably truer), but after hearing Judy's credits call I had to stop the game there and immediately fix the mistake
