Has your GPU had enough?
Do you feel like fps is just too freaking low on this tech preview?
Well I have the solutionTM for you!
(at a cost of quality obviously… but its still much better than original RT)
But it brings 1.5/2.0x fps boost soooo…ah

Would a 3060 ti be enough to play with path tracing at 30 fps? I'm using a 1080p monitor
I thought I was watching a internet historian video in the first few seconds
ill take the compromise so i can boost my resolution
Optimization is greater than brute force.
from 22 to 30fps on a 6700xt , give it a try !
They need to bend the truth cause partnering with nvidia to use their new RT method comes with catches. CDPR: "But it runs on 30xx series just as good?" NVIDIA: "You want it or not?"
With just RTX 3080 (non-Ti) at 2k with DLSS performance game still feels surprisingly playable even in unmodded form.
I kinda wish that in a future players would be able to set amount of RT bounces/length manually for games with native path tracing renderer. But I think games like that will come in like 5-7 years from now when RT-capable videocards will be a norm and not a higher end option. I imagine that something like RTX 6050 will probably be enough to run CP2077 at same settings as 3080.
For quite some time, I mod all my games now, impossible to play without, the modder community does a fantastic job and interest for gamers.
Basically what i suggested under the Digital Foundry video 3 days ago. Just like the portal path tracing upgrade, you can go in the command prompt and change the ray per pixel, the amount of bounce, (4,3,2 or 1) and the ray distance. That what i suggested for a setting in this game too because even if the max setting is more accurate overall, in a game lile cyberpunk (different than metro exodus enhanced or portal where the pacing is different), you will less notice those Suttle differences. Path tracing is a really demanding feature but the misleading marketing already made people though the couldn't launch portal rtx without a 4000 series and frame gen when with the proper settings i could play it on my rtx 3090ti at 4k Dlss balanced and 60fps.
Its always a question of settings and configurations and people will always try to mislead you instead of educate. This is not a good thing and cdpr, aware of this situation shouldn't let their fanbase believe this is an impossible features only some whales will want to use by spending 2000$+ for a 4090
Will my 2070 super be enough
ty modders
After seeing your video yesterday, I ended up reinstalling the game, and I was able to play it on my 3080ti in 4k, dlss performance…and it looked beautiful and I was able to run it at like 30fps….
I also noticed that playing it with normal ultra ray tracing in 4k dlss balanced that I had MUCH higher framerate than when I played it last….I was absolutely shocked at how much of an Improvement I'd gotten and I don't know where it came from….the Witcher 3 enhanced too, I was able to crank everything up and actually have a stable decent framerate, which I couldn't do on lower settings before….I don't know what nivida have done, but the 3080ti's performance has been increased quite considerably since I last played like a coupon months ago
RT OD makes my 4090 go brrrrr
I feel like without the second bounce certain scenes wouldn't look as atmospheric. Especially when you have a strong but directional light in a room or tight space, the second bounce can fill the whole space with its hue while the single bounce is more localized.
A mod in which you can tweak the settings manually would be best, if it isn't able to already
Okay so I just tried this mod on my 3060. On native 1080p with dlss on ultra performance and nvidia reflex turned on with boost (give few more frames) I have grand total of 55 fps. Opposed to having 35, so it actually works.
As a data point, on a 3090ti, 1440p, I also have to use performance DLSS to stay above 60. To me, that's not worth it as I usually have DLSS set to quality (mostly just to keep the card quieter). This mod will add a few frames it seems but that's still not enough for me to use path tracing.
immersion booth. I loved that 😂
So it eliminates the second bounce? If I can pull it off without that, I'd rather not use it.
I would rather make a mod that INCREASES the number of bounces from 2 to let's say 100..I'm all for super-realism, I don't mind to play the game at 2fps
