Cyberpunk 2077 wanted system and police are completely broken at this stage of the game, so I wanted to go deeper into it to see what could change, what opportunities were missed and we are also going to talk about the usual problems wanted levels have.

  1. I felt extremely proud when I defeated every police officer they could throw at me until the game straight up gave up and the stars just disappeared and the npcs started respawning… so I'd say I won.

  2. And it makes being a "bad guy" pointless if you can't be a sneaky alleyway murderer, when the police appear instantly. Instead of a "crime reported", police show up and actually investigate the situation…

  3. I feel so frustrated with the game. So close yet so far of being an all-time great. All i can do is not buying the next CDPR game, and that feels stupid, but it's all we have.

  4. NCPD are useless. They pretend to investiage something when really they standing there. If you so much as look in their direction they get hostile. What's really annoying is they seem to have one hit kill ability. Typically this associated with high level enemies. Which typically don't o
got down easy. If thats the case then its odd that my melee character can one shot them with Scapel. This is without using slow time cyberware. Then there's my hacker character short circuit makes short work of them. So clearly they aren't a higher level.

The biggest problem for me is this. If you defeat the ncpd then go behind a corner to lower the warrant. Everyone just vanishes no loot .

  5. I've just generally tried to avoid the police and/or harming civilians so I don't run across this issue, but sometimes things happen and yeah, the system does need to be fixed. Despite that I still have a hard time trying to NOT play the game and wait for more patches by doing other things around the house in the meantime, but I still gravitate towards playing the game.

  6. Assassin's creed Odessey had a good police system, if you commited murder, a bounty hunter was sent after you, and wouldn't stop. You either had to kill them, wait it out, or pay off your fine.
Also….for a city where everyone is armed, I was expecting all the citizens to pull out guns and start shooting me. But instead, they cower.

  7. Fixing the police would require them to create a whole new A.I system from the ground up. Have a feeling this will be something for future titles, if ever. Mods can do wonders though for this game.

  8. The police system is not that simple, this is not GTA, this is a rpg with consequences.

In GTA, if you die you respawn, if you're arrested you respawn, and if you somehow escape / paint job they forget you.

In Cyberpunk, if you die you die, if you're arrested, there is a need for a quest line with your trial / jail time / death penalty depending of your crimes, and if you somehow escape you have a bounty until they catch you, and you got relentless waves of mercs like you going after you whenever in the game, fixers won't talk to you or just sell you to the autorities, lone wolves within the police might wanna take revenge on their dead buddies and go after you themselves off the book.

Basically just imagine what real life police and justice would do for a crime with actual consequences, i know it's just a video game but the way the world and lore is built is too complex for a basic police chases, shootout and forget GTA-Like.

Hopefully we'll get some kind of system someday.

  9. I always pictured the combat zone as alot more crazy then it is in the game. Like its supposed to be a place that rarely anyone makes it out of and the only form of transportation in is combat cab. There is also a tv show about combat cab going into the combat zone that plays in Night City. There is none of that vibe in Pacifica currently.

  10. I don't see CDPR fixing the wanted system anytime soon. Hell, I don't think they'll fiddle with that at all unless one of the expansions are focused on being Lawmen (one of the classes in Cyberpunk TTRPG). reason being, there's a LOT that needs working on in this game and fixing everything would mean pretty much an overhaul the likes of Final Fantasy XIV underwent. So there will be things that'll go unaddressed for a looong time in this game, if ever. And the wanted system is one of them IMO.

  11. The police system is disappointing. I rarely do anything to get them on my ass. I also find the security at the Arasaka industrial complex to be underwhelming. It takes a total of 19 bodies to spell Jackie, and by my estimation, another 19 to spell Welles. I say by my estimation because I ran out of bodies and Arasaka isn't sending any reinforcements. I ended up just scrapping the last name and tossing the excess bodies in bins for stealth xp. Sorry choom. Arasaka wouldn't provide enough bodies to properly memorialize you, but I did what I could.
