Cyberpunk 2077 is an open-world, action-adventure role-playing video game, developed and published by CD Projekt RED that was released December 10, 2020. The game was announced during the 2012 CD Projekt Red Summer Conference as the official video game adaption of Mike Pondsmith’s pen and paper RPG Cyberpunk 2020. An expansion for the videogame, called Phantom Liberty, is set to release in 2023. A sequel codenamed Orion is set to start development subsequently.

Cyberpunk 2077 is a continuation of the events of Cyberpunk 2020, taking an alternate path to that of Cyberpunk V3.0. The game is set in the dystopian metropolis of Night City. It is set in the Free State of Northern California. Night City is located south of San Francisco around the area of Morro Bay, CA. During Cyberpunk 2020, Night City is said to have a population of more than five million inhabitants. However, this number is suspected to be considerably larger in 2077.

  1. Progression and perk shards were a thing before 2.0. You would simply get EXP towards, say, Blades or Blunt weapons, and at 2.0 those skill trees got consolidated into the new solo/shinobi/whatever trees, with progress carrying over. So you're not missing THAT much, with the exception of the cyberware capacity ones that are totally new.

  2. If you start directly to Phantom Liberty with a new game you have a very low level 15 character with bad weapons, low skills and no fun to beat the dlc with this trash you have. You also skip the opportunity to get some good story weapons, cash and exp which you get during the main questline. You skip 17 missions and have 9 left until the final main story line.

  3. This game suck. F**ING SCRIPTED scenario! If I want a scripted scenario, Ill play rockstar game! Hate this new DLC chemira battle! I build my character around blades and mantis. I have no skill in guns, how do I manage to beat a tank with mantis and blades? I even cant take the big guns that is stuck in is socket with 7 of body 😢 skills!!!

  4. So i have to start a BRAND NEW GAME in order to start phantom liberty because this “call from songbird” isn’t happening for me and from what every single person is telling me is start a new game i made my character SPECIFICALLY for phantom so i just wasted my time and money for that nice

  5. Im still not convinced a fresh playthrough is that important. I ironically have my Street Kid playthrough EXACTLY at this point. Did it a few weeks ago and went to Starfield really strange I landed exactly there. Anyways technically i should have the same amount of skill shards anyways unless its now easier to level up a tree and there are more levels. Cause I will say the game was crazy slow on progression in that regard. Especially considering there is what 22 or 24 levels per? I dont remember off the top of my head. Tough choice for sure.
