  1. In the Cyberpunk 2020 tabletop RPG, Saburo Arasaka and his eldest son Kei Arasaka (who is dead in 2077) are the principal villains, with the former explicitly being an unreconstructed Japanese ultranationalist who wants to use his corporation to achieve Japanese economic domination of the world.

Yorinobu and Hanako, by contrast, are presented as kind of the 'white sheep' of the Arasaka family, with the former being like Japan's answer to Johnny Silverhand and the latter being very close with her rebellious brother. Both are portrayed as potential allies for players.

It's interesting to see how CDPR portrayed them here, in-game 57 years later and out-of-game a little over 30 years after the characters were created.

  2. I half expected you to use the Mantis Blades against Oda. Arasaka weaponry used against a living Arasaka weapon.

So much action this episode! I personally think they did a great job with Hanako's character design. She looks as sophisticated and mysterious as her database entry described.

  3. Love the soundscape of the parade. The ethereal synth ambience music with Hanako's muffled speech in the background. ๐Ÿ‘Œ You sadly have missed a very nice singer somewhere on the way though.

  4. Welonz, are you planning to do all the side missions and companion quests in this game before triggering the ending? (I mean, it's what you usually do, but just checking *g*)

  5. Well… now I know how to save Takemura on my next playthrough lol, I was so disorientated after I fell I didn't even think about jumping back up. Also that reaction you had to seeing Gillian was pretty hilarious.

  6. Great ๐Ÿ‘ video. I donโ€™t know if you have the specs yet but the PSALM 11 6 is a great assault rifle that you can craft and put a silencer on. Morton Labe is another one.

  7. Great job with saving Takemura most players just listen to Johnny especially since the objective to save him is hidden. Its a nod to original Deus Ex where you could save JC brother Paul in similiar scenario.

  8. It is a little unfortunate that every fight is a walkover, at this difficulty and point in the game. You beat a badass ninja boss with laser scythes for arms with a pipe wrench. That kind of says it all. I'll watch for the story, which is still totally worth it, but I always enjoy watching you meet an actual challenge when it comes to gameplay, and that is lacking for the most part. Pacing is still on point and creates enough urgency to be a sort of substitute.

Even if you were inclined to increase base difficulty at this point, it would take a drastic change to make the game challenging again (beyond the occasional "someone got the drop on me" death). Not a criticism of the playthrough, which is excellent, just commentary on the gameplay. Your streaming has filled many empty hours over the past year or two… so TY ๐Ÿ™‚

  9. Huh, you didn't have Hanako singing before the fight against Oda. Don't know if it was a bug or have they changed something in a patch. Or did it take too long for you to get there.

  10. Hanako prefers to live in lie rather than know the inconvenient truth. Her father was strangled, not poisoned, it was easy to check. He was "poisoned" during meeting with his problematic son and now he obviously hides details about this event. But she prefers don's see any discrepancies. Why, be rich and careless is much more cosier.

  11. Glad you did the thing with Gillean Jordan, and the wrong number of knocks on the door at Takemura's hideout lol just shows how much stuff they've accounted for and it's really funny ๐Ÿ˜€
For anyone who hasn't played it or found out yet you can lean on the railing at 21:30 and listen to a singer standing on one of the parade barges.
