Cyberpunk 2077 is seen as the successor to the Deus Ex series.
In this video i compare Cyberpunk 2077 vs Deus Ex, where i talk about the latest Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and Human Revolution.

Many people are seeing Cyberpunk 2077 as a successor for the Deus Ex series, with a game focused on the cyberpunk genre, cybernetic augmentations, stealth, RPG elements and the amount of choice on how to play this game.

  1. "When due process fails us, we really do live in a world of terror" – JC Denton

AHA !! Pretty much predict how empty the world, how lifeless the citizen looked and how broken AI system has become in the year of 2077 lol

  2. My friend… Comparing this unfinished mess with any given major Deus Ex title with the possible exception of Invisible War, is not a very wise thing to do. At least for now.

Let's see if the CDPR medic squad can patch this patient before it goes "Flatlined". The Witcher 3 was a mess on launch too (not as bad as Cyberpunk though) but nevertheless, it became GOTY material.

To the CDPR guys, it's time to wake up, samurais!

  3. Good points. I totally agree with open world vs hub world comments. Open worlds have been embraced because they better support multiplayer, but hub worlds are far superior when it comes to depth and richness of environment, as you said.

  4. I appreciate the sentiment behind this video. I really do. I bought CP2077 under the expectation that it would feature quests in the same vein as the Deus Ex series. And certain side quests really did feel that way – with alternate routes and the ability to ghost through certain areas. But beyond a certain point, the game's performance really interfered with my enjoyment and I opted to get a refund.

I cannot fault the art direction and music for CP2077. They are incredible. That said, I keep going back to what Warren Spector said – "I'd rather play a game that's an inch wide but a mile deep than something that's many miles wide but only inches deep." And I think after a certain point, that's what CP2077 felt like for me – I think I might have enjoyed the game more without the driving, which frankly isn't fun to do. I remember the environments in DX1, HR and MD because even though they're small spaces in comparison, there's so much storytelling and world building happening in those spaces.

Frankly a lot has been said about the AI in CP2077- I'd rather not go there. But I was really annoyed with some of the UI/UX choices in CP2077 – like the map not zooming out while driving, or a dedicated zoomed-in view for keypads similar to how the views are in the Deux Ex games – they are really tiny things, but implementing them would have enhanced the experience much more…

  5. I'm pissed off that you missed the fact that civilians duck and cower in the exact same way in both Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and Cyberpunk: 2077. You also forgot that the character movements in game for NPC's and random civilians is the same as well. As is the semi glossy look of the characters. It's covered up better on PC with more advanced graphics and smoother running but on console it's painfully apparent. It makes the game (Cyberpunk) feel very much like a rehash at best. At worst it feels like they stole these mechanics and stuck them in so they didn't have to put any effort in to certain areas. A very second rate game.

  6. I think It's not the right question to ask. It's like comparing Fallout76 with Borderland/Rage series. The right question to ask would be: Is Cyberpunk2077 is the same as Fallout76 and the answer is YES, this games are the same – they are badly delivered junk.

  7. They are pretty hard to compare. Even their cyberpunk feels are different.

Ones a on rails RPG and the other is a openworld RPG in the style of Bethesda RPGs.

They aren't even close to apples to apples.

  8. Deus Ex is pure class, 2077… not so much. I have very little time for games; playing two or three at most annually & the Deus Ex games are some the best I've played in a while. Hope there's another in the pipeline.

  9. The difference is Deus Ex has options you can interact with the world. For every mission you can go stealth, fight or just avoid it all through conversation options. Cyberpunk is very limited, clunky and passive. Most of the objects in the world you cant even touch, pick up etc. Its all window dressing.
