  1. As a Quest 3 user streaming wirelessly, I have mixed feelings about Luke Ross's business model for selling his Alternate Eye Rendering VR Mod. However, the V15 update is a significant milestone worth celebrating, and he aims to continue improving it.

On a technical level, he's reduced the overhead required to run this and other games using his mod by cropping the edges that are out of view in the headset. This approach, similar to a feature VorpX had long ago, frees up GPU power that can be used to increase resolution, resulting in smoother gameplay and fewer headaches.

    What does this mean?

Lower spec GPUs now have a better chance of running the game at higher quality than before. The extreme ghosting when using DLSS (or not) has been nearly eliminated, and distance details are much clearer. Although the Aero still looks better than the Quest 3, as a PCVR gamer with a Quest 3, the experience now feels closer to what it should be. I can increase the in-game resolution and graphics settings (using an RTX 4090).

If you've seen the mod on lower spec GPUs and thought it looked like a fuzzy mess (which it was), it might look much better now.

I acknowledge that motion controls are not available, but they aren't necessary for this game. What you get is a AAA budget game to marvel at in VR, which is pretty amazing.
