Phantom Liberty, Cyberpunk 2077’s latest (and only) expansion, is perhaps one of the most anticipated releases this year. Available for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC, it adds new jobs, activities and mechanics, but it also completes the redemption arc for CD Projekt RED’s controversial RPG.

While there is a plethora of new content, from Increased Criminal Activities to Gigs, Phantom Liberty presents a compelling new story. Depending on your choices, there are several different outcomes to achieve. However, most importantly, you can unlock a new ending for the base game.

Here’s everything you need to know about Phantom Liberty’s story, how it ends, what the new ending for the base game offers, and where the series could go from here.

  1. All these years later the speedometer says im doing 150 mph + and i still just slowly coast by an AI car thats doing 35 mph. This game is a joke. Skill tree does barely anything at all. Neither do attribute points. Its just a glorified failed comic book about gay stuff.

  2. I still think sending So Mi to the moon is the way to go (canon) Mr.Blue Eyes is one of kind character , he controls the ultimate weapon to destroy any corporation + any country and he got control on Jeff Peralez the actual Mayor of NC , the guy is PROB a rogue IA and the ending "Dont fear the reaper" now makes WAY more sense to be the canon ending for V and Johnny and Remember at the end of Jeff Peralez personal Mission he contacts V with the Black Wall !!! The guy Really Wants the 5th Corpo WAR!!.

  4. Phantom Liberty absolutely BROKE me. My whole approach was to follow the orders of the mission issued out by both President Myers and Solomon Reed. No matter how my morals were tested, what deemed ethical, or what my gut instinct told me, I went against all of that for the sake of following mission orders. I didn’t want to jeopardize anything. Yet, when it’s all said and done, you find yourself second guessing every decision you made of whether or not you did the right thing. Which, is so hard to tell because you’re put in this spot of not knowing who to trust anymore. Those decisions became costly, true colors revealed themselves, and you realize you can’t trust anyone in this. Not Reed, not the president, no one.

So Mi aka Songbird’s fate had me feeling so guilty. It’s inhumane what they do to her towards the end. It leaves you in a state of regret feeling as if you should’ve honored her wishes despite what your orders were. Such a tough pill to swallow. Especially, after everything you both went through together.

But, I love that’s what Phantom Liberty did to me. The rollercoaster of emotions was like nothing else I’ve ever experienced in any game. That type of immersion makes you feel as if you’re almost actually living out those moments. Which, at times even became overwhelming. CDPR did such an incredible job with that. They deserve every bit of praise for how they breathed new life into this game. Truly a must play. An absolute masterpiece. Cyberpunk 2077, I love you and thank you

  5. Why can’t V just have a happy ending. The original endings were already bleak. They couldn’t even give us Panam😢I miss when games used to have happy endings, real life is depressing enough lol

  6. No No they should not bring Adam Smasher back in any Cyberpunk 2 or Orion. You forget that before Phantom Liberty I expect every single player Killed Smasher.
We should have a Whole new Cast a new Villain and a New V character.
If Adam Smasher can come back then what’s to stop CDPR digging up anyone else that died or got killed in the game.

  7. Nice video.
I enjoyed playing phantom liberty very much. But found the new ending very unsatisfying.

    Spoilers ahoy:

My initial choice was to save song by sending her to the lunar clinic, which forces you to kill reed at the launch pad, and of course you miss out on the cure. This allows you to save song, but then go on to experience one of the 3 oringal endings.

I re-tried my choice from a save, this time giving song to reed, after the initially betrayal him in dog town. however, I found the new ending very unsatisfying. To me, even the "Devil" ending was preferable. If you give song to the NUS, do you hear from her again? Reed just kind of brushes her off in later conversation about her.

That being said, now I have experienced all 4 endings, im stuck somewhere between the "jonny" and "casino" endings as preference. They seem to fit a little better. Although my personal preference would have been full nomad, to go off with panam and the aldercados to live out V's final days.

  8. They need to fix 2.0 update first. Put in 50 hours on top of my 120 hours base game into the DLC. Gamesave got corrupt right before the final mission in my game play after Firestarter. I just came on YouTube to watch all the endings because I’m definitely not putting myself through playing it from scratch again.

  9. I might be huffing pure copium here. Hr I gotta say, we say what pre-chrome V could do in the Scav hideout, I’m surprised that he couldn’t end up being proficient with weaponry just like Morgan Blackhand was. There’s still hope for V.

  10. Phantom Liberty was amazing but the new main game ending based on it sucks big time, I much prefer the other original endings, especially where you go with the aldecaldos to live what little time you got left. I think its fitting that there is no 100% good ending, all of them are bleak in one way or another, all of them an emotional roller-coaster, gotta say though, Cyberpunk 2077 is in my top 5 games of all time.

  11. I got to say shows how lazy cdpr is no new outcome to base ending s the dlc just adds a different ending it dnt add it to list of choice you can make after meeting Hanko and new ending proves every one who said v had 6 moth to live lied so do you trust now the dlc show cdpr had so mush they could do with more dlc instead of making the same mistakes with cyberpunk 2 plus would not make gamers 10 plus years on waiting plus they would be with in ps5 life span witch is 5 to 7 years then not have to do with new generation pc products seem to come out every year what we should do is nicey ask the fear higher ups to change there mind and more dlc for cyberpunk 1

  12. How many times have we seen a sequel where at the start the protagonist's progress is reset back to 0? Metroid comes to mind. So we have a depowered V, and if medical tech advances or their motor cortex heals itself they can be back.

  13. I absolutely loved this ending, some may say it's considered "bad" but, I mean, V might not be able to fight anymore but she's alive and because of the time passed she's basically given a new start. And just like Misty says it's not the end but the beginning of something different. She is finally, well and truly, free.

The ending is also left completely open so players are allowed to intepret what happens next in whichever way they want. Personally my V went back to Reed to find work after a bit of soulsearching in Night City, and started a new life there.
