The new 1.61 patch for Cyberpunk 2077 mostly fixes on improvements and bug fixes – but there is one big new improvement for graphics fans – the inclusion of FSR 2.1 upscaling. The game’s ray tracing and performance modes do not render at native 4K, so the addition of FSR2.1 should boost image quality. But what’s the difference and is there any improvement to performance? Tom has answers for you.

The whole Cyberpunk situation reminds me of No Man's Sky.
Please, do a critique of the new Pokémon game (Scarlet & Violet). There's a lot to say about Game Freak's work.
I had this game in stadia never played it more than 2 hours lol now I probably will never play it
Kinda nitpicky but @ 2:35 why do the series consoles have pop in and the ps5 dont? What is it with series and this nagging pop in ? Smh
Sill inferior to old dlss. Typical amd, always two steps behind.
It's only taken 2 years…
Damn, Thom, I love your style. You are by far my favorite DF commentator !!! I only wish we got more videos from you. Keep up the great work my friend!
This update is very good on pc too.👌 thanks amd for the fsr for older gpus.
The year is 2077 and the game is run on ps50 and still get updates!
I have a cuestión how Xbox series have defecate CPU can helping fsr improve the game
XBS running at 720p LoL.. what a poopbox
Great DF video as always. Glad to see that CDPR didn't abandon this game and continues to work solid progress. Great visuals on consoles!!
Thanks Tom 😁👍
Consoles are stealing the master race's graphic techs!!! :(((
jk, this is great for everyone!
6:11. Look at that ghosting behind the car and npc's feet on the right image. Was bad before and still just as distracting. This game is still a noisy, messy, pastel colored smear.
I wish the FSR option was available in the PS4 Pro version of the game.
Unlike saints row 2022, this game is trully awesome to play, the characters are really well written and likable. Cool open world to look at and is more livelier then saints row dead world, awesome soundtrack , good array of weapons, cool story for what it was even though i wished we got what was promised a full blown rpg. And the best part, cyberpunk feels more like a saints row game with its gangs than the reboot as a whole as well as the fact that cyberpunk doesn't hate its fanbase and doesn't alienate them. Looking at you volition. The patches keep making the game better. Really love the commitement from cdpr. Whilst i cant excuse their pathetic release launch. It's really awesome to see where the game has went
Was hoping you guys would have a look at this! 😀
No testing against current DLSS, as I guess that might be kind of embarrassing for FSR 2.0
There is currently a visual issue when using FSR 2.1 on consoles and PC and seems to be related to using FSR 2.1 in conjunction with dynamic resolution scaling. If anyone is seeing what looks like the picture flashing along with certain lights getting brighter and the image looking oversharp and pixelated for a second or so please drop a thumbs up on this comment. I am attempting to bring attention to this but don't believe it is reported in the video. I absolutely am not writing this to plug my channel but there is a very short video on there showing the issue.
Way better IQ. Baffling how it isn't standard since it's part of the dev kit for the consoles.
I'm all for positive changes but with almost every update the Controller settings get throw out of place and it's a pain to adjust them everytime. CDPR please keep the controls from going crazy with every update.
awesome overview of FSR changes Digital Foundry!
great work on the patch CD Projekt!
Fantastic video, was doubting if we'd get a DF review of this patch!
Fsr 2.1 being on console is great news. Maybe now we can get 60fps on our "next gen" system.
one thing I realized about these comparisons is that majority are zoomed in and yeah that's obvious so we can discern the difference.
However, personally, I played cyberpunk with fsr 1.0 on 1440p coz I wanted my 6600xt to put out more frames and I gotta say I barely noticed the shimmering/aliasing/ghosting etc. but of course it's there and unfortunately I do not have any experience with DLSS so I have no comparison.
My point is, FSR 2.1 is a very welcome update. Even more so that it can be enabled with almost any gpu.
The game should have released this December instead of 2 years ago
I think will takes one more year of patches to be done this game.
The only thing I've ever wanted out of this game is a slider to adjust the sensitivity while aiming down sights. This is a big issue, while using a controller on console at least.
Tried this out last night on Series x. Performance mode was a bit of an improvement but Ray tracing was terrible. Played like a flick book.
Random question, the same update appeared on xbox one X, and appears to be playing better, is it my mind playing tricks or has this secretly had the FSR 2.1 update alongside series consoles???
Ghosting on cars is still terrible, this needs to be updated to FSR 2.2.
