Benchmarking the AMD Radeon R9 290 in the new v1.5 patch for Cyberpunk 2077 on an average gaming PC.
No sooner have I got my R9 290 vs. 2022 video out the door, then I have a reason to revisit it. Cyberpunk 2077’s latest patch removed compatibility with the GTX 700 series from 2012-2014, but AMD’s Finewine generation are still hanging in there. The R9 290 has been a solid entry level card for this game since launch, but with improved performance and the addition of FSR, patch 1.5 proves to make GCN 2 more relevant than ever.

Honestly I had a blast playing cp2077 on a overclocked 290X so far, mix of high and ultra and 2 settings on medium in 1080p yields a 40fps experience. Not too far bechind 980ti I used previously

Fsr quality is the standard for newer titles imho
Dyinglight2 and God of war also looks good with those setting
So 1080p with high settings and fsr on ultra quality is the way to go if one wants their game to look great and be playable at the same time.
My old gtx 770 still launches cyberpunk on the latest patch, and fsr even works.
900p low and fsr high to get 30fps. Glad my main gpu is a Vega 56.

There's not one good reason to love CP 2077. If you think you love this game, you're kidding yourself.
What about gtx 700 mod drivers for cp 2077.
How do you get the FSR to work? I cant find it in my GPU drivers
