His voice, tone and delivery is clearly intended to alienate the audience from the ideas he puts forth, especially if you contrast it to the comical, attractive and appealing tone of the corporate commercials and ads. Basically what he says is entirely true, but is delivered in such a way that nobody will find it appealing and wont listen or believe, therefore will continue asleep in the American dream.
