Do you know you can do wheelies on a bike? I think its L shift and W on keyboard. Also now that you have plenty of cash, there're some pretty nice bikes you can pick up. The Yaiba Kusanagi CT-3X is sweet and inspired by the classic cyberpunk anime Akira.
Some shotguns do electrical, chemical or fire damage. Keep an eye out for versions of the DB-2 Satara-the iconic one is an OP beast. And there's an outstanding shotgun you can get free by exploring Memorial Park in Corpo Plaza (look for the monks).

At the end of the party, you were attacked because you had previously completed the "Life's Work" quest (concerning the 6th Street gang) using a non-stealth approach – and 6th Street didn't like you (one of their men recognized you).
You can save hostages at crime scenes, you just need to start by obliterating the people guarding them (preferably from a distance using netrunning, so that they don't have time to hurt anyone)
