I just came across some gut wrenching news about Cyberpunk 2077. This is definitely not the news I was wanting to hear. We’ll also talk about the Expansion and future DLC, as well as Patch 1.6 and how Cyberpunk 2077 will continue onward for years even after official support is pretty much halted for the game.

Did you miss my video about the new Update 1.6 and Expansion officially called Phantom Liberty? Watch my video here with new gameplay: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d2Z9tuxvyv0
I don't think the modding tools will be anything like Bethesda's creation kit, and will only allow limited modding like we saw for TW3. Again, as with anything CP 2077, keep your expectations very, very low.
I don’t even know anybody who has a PS5 or series X.
Well the best takeaway is with the dev tools and no further updates being released modders can make stable mods without worrying about patches breaking their work and players can revert any "balance changes/nerfs" they don't like, after all it is a single player game some may want super hard mode and some want godlike abilities. Let's be honest once CDPR said they were transitioning to UE5 for games the writing was on the wall that CP2077 future content promises would be shut off.
This ps4/ps5 stuff needs to stop. Ps4 is completely holding development back
the who next gen and modding thing is really pushing me to go to pc and just forget about console all together, I'm a big player of skyrim and cant do have the things i want with that game on Xbox so if CDPR is wanting the modders to carry CP77 then it only makes since to move to pc. you'll never have to worrie about being locked out of any new content
Why drop x one x and ps4 Pro though? They manage the game well. I'm sure they would expansion as well…
Mods are pointless for a lot of players unless they activate steam workshop. A bunch of people cant use those crazy mod managers, they suck anyway, Steam workshop is a MUST!!! To keep most people interested
Rename the channel to "Cyberpunk Karen". You guys constantly misinterpret news and then over-dramatize titles and conclusions. I guess whatever gets those views…
Cyberpunk 2? That's a bit optimistic…
With how long its already been the writing was on the wall. If they could suffer any further damage to their reputation I think they would have bailed on the game without even 1 expansion if they thought they could get away with it.
I just hope it isnt a self-contained short story like Heart of Stone (as good as the writing was). I want it to have a real impact on the base game and supporting cast. If Panam isnt involved in some small way Ill consider it a failure as she was one of the few good things about the game when it was at its lowest point.
Yea, I just saw the update come through on my Steam profile today, and when I saw the newsfeed update that they're adding official modsupport, my first thought was, "There it is. They're basically admitting they can't fix the game and would just like to move on from this fiasco, so they're giving the reigns over to modders." Personally, I don't see a problem with this. Probably the best choice they could've made considering everything. Modders to the rescue! Still have no interest in starting a new playthrough myself though, 'least not before Phantom Liberty has actually dropped and I have proof of it in my Steam Library…
The sad thing is the game wasn’t a failure because of its setting or ideas but because of their failure to launch the game complete. This game could be MASSIVE but sadly the investors of CDPR probably don’t see that, they just see the figures and headlines
Will cyberpunk get console mods similar to skyrim and fallout?
two of the new gigs are actually old. I just played them like i did this before on my very first play through. dissapointing.
My 2 cousins both bought a ps5 and it was so fun to use!
I'm not hype for this expansion it's going to suck, why? Because cdpr's track record for the game shows they don't know what to do with the game. Have fun buying a expansion for 10 hours worth of content (if not less) for $40
its a bummer that the game released on last gen in the first place, glad they finally dropped it and are not constrained anymore
Thinking of Skyrim, that game and Fallout 4 do have mods for console. This could lead to a tool that would allow console players to use approved mods
Ugh, I am done with CDPR, the offical responce that we are only getting one DLC after saying we where getting as much as we got iwth the Witcher 3, along with all of the past issues, that while mostly fixed, the fact they tried to hide the issues shows that CDPR is not to be trusted. And now they are expecting moders to do the work for them to keep the IP alive till the next installment? Nope I am not normally one to jump on a boycot bandwagon, but CDPR has shreded every chance I gave them like a bad ex that refused to stop cheating. sorry CDPR but I left your stuff on the curb, never call me again. </3
"is the only planned" just because they have not planned anything else for cp2077 does not mean they wont make more exspantions but it also does not mean they will make more exspansions. as far as im concerned im happy they are taking things slow after their rep was sorta tarnished because of how cp2077 was released..
I gotta say, forcing a Body check of TWENTY to properly use O'Give is absolutely ludicrous. They'd better drop that in a future update.
Was super sad there was no real reason to return to the game with the new update. This game desperately need new content and or new game plus.
Its ok! I got one/two words…redmod. its up to us now. All i have is ps4 slim and laptop. But planning on getting modest gaming rig soon…
Could CDPR possible face a lawsuit for not delivering on that promise for the limited addition console for the dlc? I wonder.
Dont fret, things change.
They say that it's the only one, but if it gets popular it will shift their interest into creating more.
When you sad, you will be head down for a day or two and think u will be sad forever. Then few days later ur having a huge party laughing ur head off.
What I mean is, life is unpredictable. What they say is not 100% written in stone.
Red mod on itself is a multi packs of DLCs, we can create our own desired DLC. If they dont take care of the game, then the community will take care of it.
Edit: about next gen consoles, if you cant get a ps5. Then get series X.
It raises the chances of buying a next gen, they are both almost equal in strength. Drop the favorable console bullshit. They are both amazing and they both hold unique games.
i have been playing this game since launch. i was one of the few who played who didn't have game ending bugs, and the bugs i did come across wasn't so major that i completely just stopped playing the game. so, to hear this news is a bit shocking. i have the game on pc and if i wanted, i could've been using mods from the jump, but i don't care much about them. i was hoping they would've gave us new game plus, but that was a no go, but i thought "at least they're still working on the game." now it seems they're trying to move on from it despite they hype they pushed on us and the things we were promised. all this is just sad and pitiful in my opinion. guess we'll just have to see what happens down the line.
What a shame. CDPR really dropped the ball with this game.
All their updates are just little blips.
Theyre killing me… i just got a new laptop after 7 yrs. i9 1200hk, rtx 3080ti, 32g ram, 2tb raid 0… im ready to run this at ultra 1080p with ray tracing, but im waiting for a new big content update to get back into it after 100% it prior to 1.5
I've said it since the beginning. PS4 and Xbox one should have been out of the question in development and this had been a next gen only game. A close friend bought it for PS4 and returned it and definitely said it was a bad game. Meanwhile I was playing it on a 3080…I built a brand new PC for the CP2077 release. I was gushing over how amazed I was walking into The afterlife for the first time. You cannot follow a game for so long and having such raised expectations for a gaming experience that could be something the likes we have never seen and go "so my nearly 8 year old tech that's about to be replaced, should work no problem"? But it's not all on the consumer. If CDPR had given promises of performance quality across all platforms as well as content…people have all the right to be upset. But you should know better. I am curious if CDPR is holding off promising any further DLC because of the damage that has been done and they want to see how this next bit of content turns out.
They shouldve never released for last gen consoles, it was a bit part of the launch failure. I understand a lot have them, but how many sales were lost, reputation damaged, and all versions worse as a result of trying to make it work on them?
I actually expected the sniper rifle "rebalance" to be honest.
Old Gen guys can play on Stadia and literally reach PC levels for free
Instead of them fixing the issues and releasing things they promised, they're instead breaking the game and nerfing things that makes the game fun…CDPR needs to get out of their own way and get their heads out of their ass.
Also we have so many games that are technically superior to Cyberpunk, for them to say the last gen are giving issues mean they didn't optimize the game in it's development. They should've delayed the game from the jump 2 more years and released when they fully optimized the finished game.
The whole "I was promised", "But you said" jeez. Yeah, we're all disappointed but lets not give any of these broken promises any more air then is required. It's a video game people. Life will go on and you'll move on once you start playing something else.
You ain't gonna get it.
Lol
I still hope that if the base game, the anime as well as the dlc do very good, the might do an dlc 2.
kinda screwed over 🤔 promise's broken trust lost next game they make I'll get it when it's on sell for 4.99
Here’s my surprised face.
Honestly I would almost rather that they hold off more expansions and just roll them into a sequel.
I’m more disappointed that there’s no “next gen” cool shit, particularly after bankrupting myself getting a PS5.
(More pissed at the console limitations if I’m honest)
Started playing 2077 on PS4 pro and then PS5 (had to buy the game twice… long story) only to be met with the same shortcomings. Harrumph 😞
The fact that they sold a console with the promise of the expansion on it is so funny. CD Project red is a wack company at this point. Hope they get it together
buy PC and never be disappointed…
My guess for Phantom Liberty (haven't read any leaks or spoilers yet).
My guess is this:
These are the same people who are controlling the Peralezes. It's headed by President Meyers (possibly the woman we see behind the big desk in the trailer) and it's their way of staying in power: by handpicking and controlling "puppets" in government, military, and other positions of power. They're going to make a play to control V.
They start, but eventually the Relic/Johnny gets wind of it and it's a back and forth struggle between someone (Songbird?) and Johnny alternating control of V's body in a battle for his/her freedom.
