  1. I disagree with the notion that a 3rd person camera is necessary or even a good idea.

I understand the arguments FOR it. And I do think those desires have merit, but I think that’s wholly and utterly eclipsed by what the focus on 1st person did for Cyberpunk 2077.

If there was a button that would ensure the next Cyberpunk game had a Rita Wheeler romance path but it would prevent any future cyberpunk titles from ever having a 3rd person camera I’d smash that button so hard the table would break.

  2. I definitely want to the option of third person… first person is usually more fun during combat, but while you're just out and about in the world I find third person more immersive, just adds to the atmosphere. I'm definitely not a fan of the first person cutscenes in 77, I find them to be the opposite of immersive.

  3. Unfortunately cyberpunk will never have 3rd person view and that a good thing. Animation and immersion aside, type of environments you travel in cyberpunk is FAR to detailed and cramped to meke space for camera without simplifying geometry. Just take a look how much work and compromises it took to make dead space over the belt camera work in that type of environment (and a lot of locations in cyberpunk is much smaller). They would need to spend ages perfecting some dynamic camera that constantly switches angles and this would be distracting as hell or scale up entire world, make roofs taller, corridors winder, remove objects that can go in between you and camera etc.

  4. I would certainly welcome more opportunities to see the character I create in Cyberpunk…but I would hate to be limited to a 3rd-person view. I agree there are lots of spots even in 2077 where V is sitting talking to someone…I have no idea about the technicalities, but that would seem to to be logical place to switch to a 3rd-person view. I'm not acquainted with many 3rd-person games, but ones I've seen seem to be two characters woodenly standing talking at each other. Not interesting at all.
