What Makes Cyberpunk 2077 So Good (And Bad)

This game was truly special…in more ways than one. And that’s not always a good thing… Cyberpunk 2077 was an unforgettable experience with some fantastic characters, Judy, River, Panam, Johnny. Ill never forget these impactful characters. I will also never forget the botched launch and PR disaster that was Cyberpunk 2077’s delayed release.

  1. I didn’t follow the hype for this game at all, and even after launch knew very little about the game other than it was very broken, but I got it as a gift for Christmas that year and was absolutely blown away by the game. It was a fantastic game and I was not let down by broken promises or anything since I didn’t know about it beforehand, so my first experience was completely fresh and unbiased. I wouldn’t have had it any other way

  2. This is probably the first time I disagree with you on a video.
My experience with the game was completely different than yours.

I did not go in guns blazing, I tried doing the sneak agent style gameplay but there were constant bugs and strange things happening derailing me from the intense feeling I was seeking from sneaking around or right out something would happen that would force me into a fight (not of my own making or seeming intented).

AS for the "alive world" I felt that the lack of interactability with items disconnected me from the world too. It felt like a nice facade but that you could not do anything with.
Shops, doors people and much more. Sure the world is more "filled" than many other open world games. But being filled with, empty/blank places/people almost made it worse.

Only having the things/ppl you can interact with in the world could make if feel more empty but everything that would be in would have a meaning.

  3. Always planned on picking this game up and still do. The concept and gameplay interested me and as weird as it sounds, the controversy surrounding the game made me want to play it more. There’s so many people with strong negative emotions for game and I just want to get my hands on it and develop my own opinions on it. Also, this video of yours just made me want to get the game even more than I already did so good job lol!

  4. I really enjoyed your review of this game and as one who also loves the game and has played over 900 hours of I am a big fan of it. I understand the broken promises, which I never actually knew about if other reviewers hadn't told me about it. I guess I lived under a rock so to speak in terms of knowing about this game before playing it. 😁I didn't see any of them and had no idea of what the game should be like before playing it.
My first play through was awesome and most of the glitches I had were more comical and surely not deal breaking. Like you I have played on fairly high end PC and never on a console so I don't know the pain they have gone through.
With each update Cyberpunk has gotten better and I have enjoyed it more. I am looking forward to the 1.5 update and hope it does bring a lot of new stuff to the game and/or some of the stuff that others have been reporting that are missing.

  5. This game was such a banger and I HATE that so many people couldn't experience what I experienced. The idea of choice was somewhat of an illusion until the final arc, but the story and soundtrack were so compelling that this was one of the few games that stuck with me a little after conquering it.

I started as a fist-fighting nomad who would choke or knock out my enemies and never kill anyone, since being a nomad gave me an appreciation for life and being raised outside the city allowed me to sidestep full desensitization. This was until I got my gorilla arms and learned they were fatal; which, by the way, timed itself so well with that one story mission where you have to save Evelyn, because the BD horrors V witnessed justified him to stop giving a fuck and just murder delinquents moving forward. Plus, all the unconscious bodies I had been storing in closets and freezers prior was killing the NPCs and I didn't know until the bonus of a future side-mission kept failing whenever I'd store an unconscious enemy.

The only thing that TRULY tilted me was getting 100% achievements. Before it got patched, one stupid side-mission included in the Little Tokyo achievement was bugged and the apartment I needed to break into was 100% sealed. Even if I glitched my way in, the objectives were unresponsive. I ended up having to make a whole ass new character, play ALL the way up unto the 3rd act when that job became available, do ALL the jobs in that area again… ALL for a single achievement.

The plus side however, was I played an absolute psycho the 2nd time around who graduated from katanas to mantis blades, and holy shit was I missing out on some of the best gameplay before doing this.

    What a sick game.
