Leave a like if you enjoyed The Real Reason Everyone Hated Cyberpunk 2077… (The Game Was Always This Good)
From what I’ve seen when talking about making this video, many people seem to misunderstand what this video was going to be about. This is a video worshipping the game like god, or me saying cyberpunk sucks, I talk about everything cyberpunk has and had to offer, good and bad, compare it to other games and communities, gatekeeping, and other aspects that caused cyberpunk to have a negative reception, and why everyone seems to have done a 180 despite the game not changing at all. This is a full retrospective on Cyberpunk 2077.

CDPR should never have given into being forced to optimize and release the game for last gen consoles.
0:01 u and me both pal.. I was so hyped to see this video in my feed
To be honest you are talking hard facts and i do Agree and love the game
Two things.
I played extensively at launch, replayed when Edgerunners came out, and then again the most post 2.0 with Phantom Liberty. Maybe I'm boring and doing it wrong, but each time I felt my preferred play style, that is melee+netrunning, was viable and catered to and that the different forms the skill tree took didn't make a huge difference.
Second, a desire for third person camera often isn't driven by any antipathy towards RPGs, I know for myself that I prefer a third person camera over first person because, well, I actually find first person viewpoints less immersive due to the very apparent lack of peripheral vision. Further, given my playstyle preference of melee combat over gunplay, that lack of peripheral vision is actually a big deal where a third person camera in effect allows a player to have that peripheral vision.
Well…I started playing this game shortly after patch 1.5 was released and have been playing it almost exclusively ever since. I don't recall being aware of the problems at its release [I play on PC] and it struck me as an awesome game despite the occasional glitch or crash…which I came to understand was more video driver related than anything else. I am not a 'gamer'…I've played games over the years when something appealed to me, but I don't have a big breadth of experience or opinion with every kind of game, game publisher/developer, game mechanic etc. It became obvious to me that a lot of people getting into this game wanted/expected it to be something different than what it is. I've seen people who claimed the game would be improved by removing the Johnny Silverhand character [maybe it was a joke/troll, but it seemed like a serious comment].
Personally, I would dispute that the game is 'worse' after 2.0. Different, sure, and there are a few things I miss, but I don't see it as being downgraded in any significant way. It just has a bunch of new mechanics long-time players have to relearn to use/cope with. I'm still playing with the same enjoyment, although I'm reaching the point where I'm ready to put the game on the shelf for a while and search for something I'll enjoy as much [hopefully]. I enjoy some Twitch content [I do it myself] but I agree that a lot of it is rubbish produced by people not actually out to explore the game…just to dip their toes in and move on. This game is decidedly not an ephemeral experience for me.
Thank you for your video…thanks to Cyberpunk 2077 and these initial bugs because thanks to these bugs I was able to leave the Playstation Mafia. When Cyberpunk came out I had a PS4 and was planning to buy a PS5. Given that the game did not work on PS4 and since it was impossible at that time to buy a PS5 because yes in December 2020 there were more PS5s on Ebay at $1,500 than new generation consoles in gift packaging under our Christmas trees. Christmas (shame on Sony). No Cyberpunk 2077 and no machine to play it…? so I changed my home theater PC to a gaming PC (new motherboard, processor, ram and RTX 3080) and I went to GoG to download Cyberpunk and install it on a machine for Cyberpunk…and wow that This first part was great 3 months after its release. Today I have 1,250 hours of Cyberpunk 2077 and I consider it the best RPG of all time. Since then, I have no longer given €1 to PlayStation, the money mafia, which I remind you has increased the price of consoles, the price of games and this now allows us to delete purchases of films and series purchased by its community. On PC I have the best image quality, Dolby Atmos sound, the best prices and mods. Proof that PS5 is a lie…? on the box it is stipulated that it can do 8K… how??? she has difficulty doing 4k 120Hz then 8K??? I also bought an Xbox series X + Game Pass we want to test games and still no money for Playstation mafia…yes!
I agree with a lot of your points like your take on twitch and perk tree (Hell even Pawel said it didn't hit the mark) I somewhat disagree with you on state of launch i played it on my old gtx 1660 it was unplayable crashes, shuttering, and vaseline texture everywhere dropped it during heist because it became unbearable i came back to it after 1.6 update due to anime it was much a better experience almost double fps and wayyy less shuttering and i got play the PL on my new 3060 so it was great.
I was not that everyone at all
i had on PC , I did well take a 100 days before starting to play it but i was Hyped before it
and when i finally played it i was in love with it , then as more stuff came for the game i loved even more
i play it still sometimes more then others but i do have lot time in the game and still not bored of it
this is my fav game of all time
I see zero difference between how Cyberpunk runs on my PS5 vs my Xbsx and it ran equally crap on Xbone and PS4. The only thing that can offer a tangibly different experience is a decked out PC so you can run raytracing in overdrive and subsequently dlss to make it playable. But there's a steep decline in return on investment there. It looks better but definately not 1500 bucks better.
Thank you – I have been struggling with why I had more fun and was "better" at the game in the 1.6 era. I couldnt understand why all these people were praising the changes in 2.0 but it just dulled the experience for me. You were able to verbalize exactly my thoughts. I started the game in 1.6 so I just kept telling myself after the update that the problem was on my end & it was just nostalgia for the "inferior" version. Dude, building out your character, customizing and upgrading weapons and everything netrunning was SO MUCH BETTER pre-2.0. The system was so complicated that it took me a couple weeks of playing to get the hang of and understand it well enough to tailor it to my preferences. Once I did it became my favorite all-time game. I REALLY wish you could down-patch on console lol
Been here since the start of cyberpunk 2077 and ive always thought that the characters and world were some of the best out there, phantom liberty reinforced my opinion
Dispite all the flaws of the ps4. Cdpr said it would work. Ghosts and horizon looked great.
