  1. The 1 thing I wish I knew when I played for the 1st time was DON'T DO ANY SIDE OR MAIN MISSIONS! Just do gigs & NCPD missions. Get your street cred & level up first.

And for me personally, focus on quickhacking to level up Short Circuit. I love Short Circuit! I hardly ever use guns anymore. I'm 100% stealth Netrunner.

  2. My favorite smart weapon is the Palica. Might not be "the best" but it's fun as hell. Shoots a swarm of tiny guided missiles. I just think it's funny when it knocks an enemy on it's ass.

  3. There is a minor difference for each life path. Obviously nothing big, but each life path has some unique quests, which you don't get otherwise. The rewards you get from these quests won't make or break a build, but there's more to it than just a few different lines of dialogue. As a corpo you can get a quest which rewards you with an iconic weapon for example. As a nomad you can get a free car & as a Streetkid you'll get a unique jacket.

TLDR: A certain life path doesn't make or break a build, but it's not entirely irrelevant either.

(I've just noticed that there are a crap ton of comments about it already, but oh well.. :3)

  4. Started another person because edgerunners.

My tips for new ppl (specially if you don't have good fps skills):

    1) Netrunner is by far the easiest and quickest way to get op. You are basically a wizard. Just put all your points in int and quick hacks until you're op, then put points into tech so you can upgrade your stuff.

You can get an uncommon deck pretty quickly as they're cheap and require no street credit. 12 sc for a rare and you're zooming and can probably craft rare qhacks by then.

You can get op via stealth, sandy or berserk too, but those take more time to get there and require more stuff. The power curve is not as smooth.

    2) before you are op, the easiest way to kill enemies is to stealth in, pick off one or two if you can, tag the rest, back off and keep barriers in between you and the pack, then shoot them through the walls with charged tech shots. You just have to keep your distance.

  5. Easiest cheap straight forward build.
    Strength and tech build.
Str = Hp tech= crafting gear. Lower system difficulty if Noob.
Raise cred asap for Gorilla arms and cyber legs.
Body mods that focus on survival and slow time is best.
If you cheat duplicate items then spam maxdoc and grenades.
    Have fun. Shrugs .. eh..
Play free roam mindset and do main quests to unlock locations and new content.
Don't rush cause even fast forwarding dialog after retries gets tiresome.

  6. Lifepath does matter, but it doesn't.
    The dialog changes are interesting.
Certain lifepaths open certain extra [tiny, minor] quests.
I do wish they'd done more with Lifepath, they are mostly meaningless, and that's sad. But they do make a difference.

  7. Life paths decide what kind of world you experience to a pretty big degree.

Doesn't change outcomes, no. However it does present a LOT of different dialogue throughout the entire game. Different ways of approaching things.

  8. Disagree on the best smart weapon. Best is Skippy provided you get 50 non lethal kills first. This is very important because you can stack headshot damage to very silly amounts. You can also have two combat types, in fact I’ll recommend it because there are certain instances when one is better over the other and it does happen quite a bit. Basically you would want a primary play style and a secondary play style especially if you’re not going into quick hacks.

The main thing to do is make sure you plan ahead on spending attributes because once spent, it’s spent. No refunds ever. If you don’t know where you want to spend those attribute points, hold onto them until you do. You can get by without spending them for about 10 levels and by them you should have already figured out how you’re play through’s is going to be.

  9. dont think its happening for me because modded: the ashura sniper blueprint also has a lootpool in one of the NCPD gigs in watson (i think it was one around the hospital; it had the cops already engaged in the fight as part of the gig). not guaranteed but i got it there a couple times.

  11. The Life paths over all don't matter in the grand scheme of things but there are a few unique events and dialogue options that you have based on your background. They aren't always much but they do make things a little different, but they being said they aren't nearly as big a deal as CDPR made them out to be.

  12. first character ended up accidentally going the net runner route despite specking pistols initially because I wanted the nodes for extra resources and ended up finding it easier to do jobs disabling people vs trying to Stealth head shot with pistols lol.
