The Parade | Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty #41

Cyberpunk 2077, that game everyone loved, then hated, then loved again.

And much like every other RPG that seems to come out recently, I am the disembodied voice in the head of another person who doesn’t sound like me, which is very confusing. If by Role Playing Game you meant play the role of a man who is going to what he likes, then yes, I am ready to role play.

  1. I can tell Sam is nearly ready to end this series. He's acting more like an idiot each episode, which is what he does when a series goes too long and he get bored.

  2. The DLC main story has a few times when it says "wait x hours/days for someone to call", so you'll probably want to keep a handful of side quests in the log to fill the gaps.
That said, it also adds some new gigs and side quests of its own, and the gigs are a bit more fleshed out than the ones in the main game.

Personally, all I'd say is to do the main game side quest "Violence" (you'll get it in a text soon) before the DLC main quest "You Know My Name". Not a requirement, just a nice touch.

Johnny's side quest line is also pretty good and worth seeing through from a content and story POV, but obviously from an RP perspective you may decide he's not worth it.
Certainly worth doing Chippin' In all the way through though. Just be aware that as soon as you enter Afterlife, the doors will close behind you and you'll have to start the quest. Won't have a choice.

  3. Since this is your first time playing Cyberpunk, I advise you to play the game as you would normally, follow your gut, remember you can always load back to points of no return and replay the game doing the other final missions and the dlc

  4. First time I encountered Oda I was level 14 with nothing but AR and pistols, it was a mess. Then I got a katana and the difference was staggering, so much easier than trying to hit him with a gun

  5. When I played I didn't know it was an option to save Takemura, I assumed it was just an on rails story section. I also thought that Takemura was plenty capable on his own as well as what he said after "alone we have a better chance".

When I got to the end of the game I was aiming for the secret ending and it was locked, Takemura being dead was the only thing I could think of that I did wrong.

  6. Johnny is an incredibly flawed man. But thats what makes him such a great character, because you know he's a shit person, and yet he's charismatic enough that most people ignore that. In any other story, he would have been an antagonist, a terrorist rock star. In this game? In this shitty, corporate hellhole of a world? He's the average person taken to the extreme. A man who got traumatised by the corps and decided that revenge against them was worth whatever cost came, whether it was his life or night city. He's a shit person, but at the end of the day? he's got principles that he will stick to no matter the cost, even if most of those principles we disagree with.

  7. I'm all here for your antagonising Johnny because I've not done any of this and he just was much more genuine and open. That's continued in the DLC for sure. I agree though that some moments with him seem a bit out of context with how you've treated Johnny and how he comes to this moment with you.

  8. You are definitely "meant" to stealth it in the universe of the game, and it's totaly possible to do. But the game has next to no moments where failing the stealth fails the quest outright.

  9. Hanako doesnt have any quick and easy solution for the relic because A) its a rare prototype, possibly unique so not much to do research with and B) its working as intended, why create a drug to stop the brain overwrite program when the brain overwrite program is only used to overwrite brains

  10. I suggest you beeline it to the Afterlife without tracking the Chippin' In quest or fast travelling there ASAP. I had a major game breaking bug where Johnny would not spawn to be interacted with, and people's only solution was to reload back to the point this episode ended and go to the Afterlife immediately.

  11. Mr. Streamer, when I first played this game I skipped Johnny's questline altogether because I thought he was a prick. I completed his questline up to its end and I gotta say. Please stick with it. I'm curious to see your reaction to where it goes.
