The Pacifica Zone Phantom Liberty Forgot About | Cyberpunk 2077

wha wha why hello there, welcome back to another look into Cyberpunk 2077’s questionable level design. Today is not a cut content exploration, but rather a look into an unused part of Night City that was not brought to life with Phantom Liberty. Still, it remains as it was 3 years ago.

Also genders, please note that I never intend for these videos to cause hate or anger. I’m not bitter nor annoyed at Cyberpunk 2077 or CDPR, this is just like exploring an abandoned building. Not annoyed its gone, but rather fascinated at what’s left.

  1. As someone who can't play on hardware and has to use GFN, I am loving these. Keep up the good work man.

I've always been interested in the design and any secrets that might be involved with the area in Japantown where you sneak on to Hanako's float during the parade. If there are any!

  2. Since if they finished the rail track it would deal with so many other areas it goes through. It would likely cause some quest bugs and frame rates, that they are not going to mess with it. (it's basically just background art now) You say "it's not the biggest thing" but it literally would cover the entire map, meaning a lot of area redesign.

Maybe it would be used if they reused this map like Saint Row 3 did for SR4 but I think Cyberpunk 2077 is done. Maybe Cyberpunk 2080.

  3. Without the actual NCART system it would basically be just an NCART Station like the one at Corpo Plaza and there still would be no actual use for it. Mods might help, but I feel like it wont get anywhere close to what would've been possible, I mean considering that Night City was supposed to house 5 million people, those carts we have in game rn realistically wouldnt be enough to move around the amount of people that would rely on it since a lot of people are extremely poor in NC. Those Carts we have could carry probably 20 people at max and with a train only being made out of three of those that basically would be only 60 people in a whole train. Great vid tho.

  4. I have a feeling that the decision to cut the tram system and just have trains appear (and move) in very few select areas was made relatively early in development, because almost every NCART Station has a layout (or lack thereof) that wouldn't be usable otherwise.

The one adiacent to H7 is even weirder, since has a bottom floor and an upper floor, but the upper floor with the train tracks is unreachable without using noclip as there aren't any corridors or stairs leading up to it. H7 itself is also relatively unique as it's the only MB with a rather large horizontal extension that makes it look a letter T turned 90° sideways, and yet there's nothing there saved for a few NPCs that still spawn inside, including beggars and food vendors.

  5. "Why are those not included in Dog Town?"

Well, it's pretty obvious that Phantom Liberty is the last inch of CDPR's flex tape to patch things out of what's left to do in Cyberpunk. But they don't want to go full ape about it despite the flop of the initial release.

Let's pray that Project Orion will be the real deal this time. 🙏

  6. I hope that we stay in Night City for the next game and they simply take what they already have and flesh it out further. Fill in the remaining empty spots, add more verticality and the Ncart system they wanted, stuff like that.
