With the release of 2.0 and Cyberpunk 2077’s spy thriller expansion Phantom Liberty CD Projekt RED have finally completed their redemptive arc. The disastrous launch in 2020 is now a faded memory. It’s fair to say the free 2.0 update and modestly priced Phantom Liberty DLC have transformed Cyberpunk 2077 into the game it was always supposed to be.

The success of these updates and additions can be attributed to the hands of the talented developers at CD Projekt RED too, for when all hope was lost following Cyberpunk 2077’s release, they steadied the ship and righted wrongs through their tireless work in the three years since, and the fruits of their labor are clear to see now. Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 and Phantom Liberty are triumphs.

  1. I only ever had minor issues on the XBox One version when it launched. Nothing out of the ordinary compared to other AAA games at launch. The online community absolutely tore the vanilla game to shreds as if their arm had fallen off but t'was realistically just a bruised elbow lmao. 2.0 if absolutely a work of art though! 🤘

  2. I made the mistake of pre-ordering this and having since day one(a month before I got the ps5) and it was unplayable. Once I got the ps5 I tried again but the bugs were still too much. Bit since patch 2.0 I've put about 30hrs in and am loving everything about it

  3. This is precisely why people should NEVER give up on a game or franchise like Cyberpunk. I know the games horrendous launch, not to mention the bugs along the way and I get that, but at some point, we need to let that go. If it hadn't have come out 2 or 3 years ago, this game would EASILY now be a GOTY contender.

  4. Don't forget they advertised this as a heavy non-linear RPG that every choice would have consequences and said in interviews that the game was so open and dense that you could finish the game without completing the main story only to change it to "Action Adventure" without notice.. No idea why "reviewers" never mention this and only go on about bugs etc…

  5. I was wondering why some people and reviewers kept defending CDPR during the launch of Cyberpunk 2077 claiming it was supposedly for the next gen PS5 and Xbox, when in fact that when CDPR announced this game the PS4 wasn't even released yet (meaning the PS4 at the time was the next-gen console and the PS5 doesn't even have any prototypes or plans yet), it's just ridiculous and some people are really stretching out and grasping straws to defend CDPR

  6. I recently got a gaming laptop 4 months ago for Diablo 4 and because did not think it’s worth building a new rig with the current 400 rtx series so I’ll wait until the 500 series but I bought cyberpunk recently. Have everything on ultra with ray tracing and absolutely love this game. I’m glad I waited to play this game. I tried to enjoy the Witcher 3 so many times but I just can’t. It’s not for me maybe? But having a blast with cyberpunk. Kinda reminds me of metal gear solid 4 on the ps3 when it comes to dialogue. Sometimes it goes on forever lol. There are glitches sadly. I am getting to the end and sad about it but happy that phantom liberty is coming out very soon. Can’t wait to play it. Cyberpunk got me back into story driving gaming again.

  7. All of the changes they made are quite significant. Each system plays so tightly into the experience. The game is a 10/10 for me and stands toe to toe with other major releases this year such as baldurs gate 3 and TOTK. Technically flawless and epically immerssive so far for me.

  8. 3 years after release to get the game that should’ve released this way. That’s not acceptable. There’s no Rise. The opportunity is gone. Too many games coming out this year. Get it right the first time next time.
