  2. There certainly a nuance of perspective where there are mind control cults, religious cults, and cultural sects. Someone from a mainline christian perspective might say the the LDS is a religious cult but now a mind control cult, and if they don't think Scientology is a religious they might say that's a mind control cult yet not a religious cult one. Then are are shades of occult symbolism and ideologies that pop up in different places.
