With more news about upcoming additions to the Cyberpunk universe and a possible sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 it’s obvious CDPR will have to choose one canon ending for the game. I did my best to voice my opinion on what ending will become canonized and why is it better for canon than any other one.

As always, thanks to these creators for their material I used in the video, it saved me dozens of hours of playing through stuff myself:

  1. I want a sequel for V and in that case fear the reaper and crystal palace endings make the most sense. But I don’t think it will be a continuation and I’d understand why NC is so vast and the lore is great there’s so many stories you can tell. But i hope there’s atleast reference to V or some continuity of your choices like Witcher 3. Honestly they could just centre the story around the Peralez, blackwall, NUSA arcs and I’d be more than happy.

  2. Did not expect that, but it really annoys me through the whole video, that you always talk about "him".

Played the female V and through the whole video it feels like you're talking about a completely different character.

  3. They tried so hard to convince everyone that the tower ending is the worst though realistically it is the best. Sure you will lose access to cyberware and most of your friends but at the end of the day V is 29 and healthy in this ending. Still plenty of time to build a future and leave a mark. Unsatisfying from a gameplay perspective? Sure but the best one from a more realistic standpoint.

  4. I can see two ending being canon, DFTR and Nomad ending ( since the nomads may know the technomancers and they may be able to save V).

The danget with DFTR is although Mr Blue Eyes can save V, the prophet said he and his AI s buddies were out to mind control humanity. Will he really just help a powerful being like V without puting some control system in it?

  5. The question is pointless. None of the endings are canon, while simultaneously all of them are. Because, no matter what you do, the big picture stays the same – arasaka is fucked, NUSA/militech's getting some war on it's ass. Anything other than that is not as important and can be swept easily under the rug, like Martinez crew's story.

  6. Something to remember about Alt and the Blackwall… she helped create it. NetWatch worked with her, a rogue AI, to make another AI.

It is one of the reasons she can pierce the Blackwall so easily. She has a literal backdoor wrote into it.

  7. I think Fear the Reaper + Sending So Mi to the moon will be the canon ending. It allows pretty much the entire supporting cast to potentially return for the sequel (since none of them have to die during the Arasaka assault), and V is still V, and working to find a cure, while also still being rooted in Night City. So it's the least disruptive to the overall cast of character/story structure, of all the endings.

  8. I agree with the idea that the sun end is the legitimate ending. At least, I think that is what the author intended. However, it is not a well-done ending. This is because V does not do anything that is typical of a protagonist. All V did was what he wanted to do.

  9. No doubt the dont fear the reaper ending is canon but what about killing so mi is cannon cause once you kill her and get the blackwall gatewas and the black wall infected weapon the blackwall speaks to you and tell you that you dont know what you are holding in your hand and that the blackwall gate is determined for way bigger things than V could ever Imagine

  10. (Don’t Fear) The Reaper should be canon. It’s the most epic. Everyone loves the Nomad ending but I honestly don’t at all. “Better to burn out than to fade away”

  11. Every ending (except suicide) can lead to the same starting point for the new game. V ends up as a construct with Alt or Arasaka? No problem – they can get a new body in the future. It’s not impossible because Saburo got one. Every other ending essentially results in V having 6 months to find a cure. Maybe it will be like in the Tower ending – V is cured but loses all cyberware. So it all comes to a clean character with a new body or V’s body but without cyberware which is very convenient for a new game.

  12. Don’t Fear The Reaper ending is canon. 100%.
Edgerunners cemented the main theme that CDPR was toying with on the vanilla CP2077.
It's all about leaving a legacy, about taking down the corporations, about the friends who help you along the way, the connections you make, and the people who will remember you when you're long gone.

  13. Sorry, but I don't agree.
Your theory here hinges on V being the main character for all future Cyberpunk games.
Which I don't think will be the case.
I think it's most likely that we will get a new main protagonist in the next game.
And no, just a different main character, doesn't immediately make it a spin-off.
There have been many games, that featured a different character for each of their mainline iterations.
    Final Fantasy for example.

    Regarding Cyberpunk 2077s "canon ending".
I simply think there won't be one. Because that would render the ending-choice in 2077 completely pointless.
So either Orion will be completely disconnected from 2077…
Or, if V were to be featured in some way, the details would probably be kept so vague, that any of the 2077 endings could be possible…
Or they could pull a "Deus Ex Invisible War" and make it so all the endings happened.

  14. I think canon would be So Mi Ending, with main ending being V giving body to Johnny with Don't Fear the Reaper End. After that we become a Rogue AI, from there on some good new sequel can be made considering what happened with in Phantom Liberty with Rogue AIs and Blackwall.

  15. I never know why the DLC ending is so bad for people she can still be a runner Biotec allready clone some people and the hole Secure your Soul thing can give V a new fresh Body its costly yes but i belive she made a lot of money in the Story and she have still some rep (specialy Rouge e.t.c)

Taku calls you and say that the Q against Yorinobu Arasaka fail and Hanako and the member are dead and Araska is done and you learn that araska is ruined in few year after
