  1. Yeah uh, im like 90% certain super soldiers from 400 years in the future with shit like literal teleportation, refined energy weapons, virtually bulletproof armor, and literal genetically altered humans trained in anti insurgency tactics, guerilla warfare, and being literally like cheetah speed fast would no diff a bunch of rudementally augemented drug addicts.

  2. Spartans power armour is hooked directly into the users brain and moved your body for you at very high speeds. Combined with spartans enhanced reflexes means they would definitely be one of the best fighters in 2077 universe. Thats not taking into account the sheilds , enhanced strength snd motion tracker.

But lets be honest seems the more elite cyborgs would definitely be on the same level as a spartan.

  3. No
1500 Spartans are tough but we are forgetting
    Arasaka
    Militech
    Kang Toa
    MatTac
    Da fucking Medics with guns
    A bunch of Gangs
    Net watch

    Peeps like V

Let alone night Corp whatever techno fuckery they have
    And Pacifica

AND the military with like 1000 of those huge ass tanks mechs and Normal tanks

A shit load of automated defenses

Shit one netrunner could just snap their fingers and blam everybody is stuck in armor lock

There’s a reason why they sent ODST and marines to fight not just master chief

  4. As others have said, the Spartans cant won in a straight fight. However, tbays not how Spartans fight! They specialize in asymmetrical and unconventional warfare. Think about how the Spartans from the early books fight. Aneakibg around and sabotaging everything. Mining roads, shooting down incoming transports.
In a straight fight the Spartans lose every time. But if tou let the Spartans use guarilla tactics, what they were trained to do, they win.

  5. as a caveat though there is no way the factions of night city act in a unified way also would cause the 6th corperate war as both Araska and Militech(not to mention probably trigger another NUSA invasion) start shooting at each other and the spartans and probably everyone else.

  6. What everyone is forgetting is that Every group in Night City would be taking the Spartan Invasion as a Chance to take over or get rid of the competition. Night City is never going to unify even against a common threat. That is literally the entire point of Night City, no one has a good ending except the city itself. Because even if the Spartans manage to win it(and I’d give it to the Spartans with a 70/30 chance in their favor) the City would still exist, just under new management. Same old story as far as Night City is concerned.

  7. I had this fucking miniature(or not so miniature) essay about the pros and cons of Night City vs Halo Spartans but I scrolled away and lost everything so fuck it, we're going for brevity this time.

Halo Spartans were trained to be adaptable, above all else. To take the tools of their enemies and turn them against them. I'd like the people here who know Halo to imagine Kelly with a Sandevistan, Fred with a Berserk implant, and Linda with Kiroshi Eyes and/or Power Weapons(also maybe John with a Cyberdeck for Cortana to use).

There'd still be a lot of problems for them, notably Night City's near omniscience due to how prevalent security cameras are, the widespread use of weapons that could seriously fuck a Spartan up, and the limited presence of individuals that could legitimately 1v1 most Spartans(although said people would almost certainly be outnumbered by said Spartans).

I think that just like in Halo, a lot of Spartans die but eventually they get that dub regardless.

EDIT: I did not succeed at brevity.

  8. I mean, I feel like if Spartans wanted/needed to wipe Night City off the map, they'd just used nukes.

But assuming they needed the infrastructure intact and had prep time, then they'd probably go in with microwave/cyberware disabling equipment after hitting the city with the mother of all EMPs, instantly wiping out a good chunk of overly chromed enemies and leveling the playing field.
Spartans are trained/have the innate drive to win, by any means.

  9. I feel like brain scan AI is what would would give this to the Spartans if they have access to them. They outclass anything in terms of computational ability that cyberpunk has and have been shown to compl completely take over systems in seconds while conversing and fending of attacks. Even Alt would not be able to stop them as far as I understand the power difference. At best trick them until she can try to consume them. But imagine what cortina alone could do in Night. And yes I understand she is above and beyond other AI in Halo. But even something under her level I think would be more than a match for any net runner or AI they have.

  10. Spartans would work together, the gangs wouldn't – the Spartans would play the gangs against each other, giving our boys in green a huge advantage. Also, the Spartans would gather Intel long before they would drop, and spread misinformation about themselves. And I am 100% sure they would find gangs who would side with them, even temporarily, to get revenge on their enemies, reducing the opposition force even more. My money is still on the Spartans.

  11. ALL Spartans V.S. all of night city is a better question imo

The most important thing to answer within that is if all SIIIs would use SPI or mjolnir

    (My position is Spartans sweep)

  12. Spartans win, night city is a dysfunctional mess, perfect for what Spartans are actually made for. Also, what tech do the Spartans have access to? Orbital bombardment is used by UNSC ships soooo, yeah.

  13. I've seen a lot of people saying that night city could hack cortona but no one saying the opposite, i wouldn't be surprised if she managed to get control over the cast majority of the city within a few days given how op she is

  14. I feel like the Spartans can wage extremely successful Guerilla Warfare against individual Night City factions. They could even pick up some powerful equipment and become one of the more powerful groups in the city. But they definitely would lose in a head to head fight with everyone. Sandevistan users and Netrunners would be especially problematic to the Spartans, as they don’t have much that can counter those. But if the Spartans had access to vehicles, ships, and resources from the human military force in Halo then it might be more fair.
The Spartans are more like the US Navy Seals. They’re the most elite soldiers, but they’re not meant to be used on the front lines of all-out warfare. They’re infiltrators, anti-insurgents, or heavy support forces meant to take out important targets or reinforce regular soldiers.

  15. Ight, this might be my brain acting up here but aint the spartan armor controlled by the brain. Like think of walking anf you will walk in the suit. If that is the case just get hackers to control the spartans armor. The only characters that will not work on are people like John and that is because he has Cortana who works somewhat to a second brain. I am not well tuned to Halo lore so take EVERYTHING I say here with the teeny tinyiest grains of salt.

  16. I just write a whole essay to explain why the spartans will win but then i remebered the legends v/david (depends on the time) adam smasher other legends oh and also corpo armys. Yeah the spartans are screwd

  17. something I notice that gets forgotten a lot is about the spartan's having over shields, and that the mjolnir armor enhances their physical strength and speed on top of their biological augments, and aren't just relying on their bio augments alone.

while spartan 3s are augmented to a lesser degree than spartan 2s, the spartan 4s do have nearly the same level of physical augmentation as the 2's thanks to advancements in the tech itself for augmenting them.

And then the armor multiplies their physical strength even further, not just by a percentage like Space marine armor, but by entire multiplicative factors.

Even the now very old Mark 4 armor was able to multiply their strength by 5. When they were already capable of lifting upwards of over 6000 pounds without the armor.

And while armor piercing guns would be largely useful against spartan armor, they still have to contend with the spartan's shields. And spartans have gotten very good at using tactics that preserve their armor's shields as best as possible. Especially considering the original 30 some spartan 2s had to go through a 30 year long war against the Covenant, who used Plasma weapons, and a vast majority survived. despite not having shields until the last 1 and half years of the actual war.

Chief himself has a body count that more than likely eclipses Night City's by several times. not including times where he blows up entire covenant ships like in Halo 2.

Additionally, there's also the fact that every spartan is now standardized to carry AI assistants into combat. Meaning every spartan can effectively perform the same cyberwarfare as a Netrunner, and do a better job of it than the actual netrunners can. Delemain is potentially the only one who can hope to contend against cyberwarfare in this scenario, but I don't think Delemain can hope to compare to Ship board AI that the UNSC can give to every single spartan.

  18. Since we are taking into account that spartans are rougly 1500 that means we are taking into account every spartan estimate incluing the ones that have died and realistically speaking head on there are many spartan equivalents in Night City however most of them are not and more like just have special augments that match one augmented part of a spartan like some could have extreme senses, others could have the super strength and others could have the speed but spartans have all that. Also since majority of that 1500 are spartan IVs and spartans 4s are stationed on the infinity because spartan branch is there then even on a ground head on battle they would have the support of the infinity and before you say infinity is gone well so are most of the 1500 spartans estimated from all 2s and 3s ever mentioned so this match up counts all spartans hence spartan forces of anytime which includes them during the time they had infinity. Assuming they don't want to level the city or the planet the airsupport of the infinity is gonna be a massive advantage not to mention everyone has netrunning vulnerabilities and if the smart AI can hack alien programming then it should not take too long for it to fully flip anything on the net to their advantage as it's likely coded in earth language based programming languages like Java and C++ or by then might be called LGBTQC+++++.

  19. Night City wins for sure if netrunners, etc. could hack UNSC. Plus given maxtac, trauma teams, cyberpsychos, Adam Smasher etc. It would be a hell of a tough fight. Spartans could win if they had strong enough defenses against the net

  20. This completely ignores combat experience and tactical ability. 1500 spartans would absolutely destroy night city, it isn't even a comoetition.
Characters like V and Smasher might cause a bit of trouble but that's it.

  21. I mean, pretty sure that the factions in cyberpunk won't work together, and if they don't then there's no way that the spartans can't clear one area at a time, and at least gain most of the city.
