Testing the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX 24GB GPU in Cyberpunk 2077 with the Phantom Liberty DLC! I tested it at 1080p, 1440p and 4K, using High, Ultra and Ray Tracing and Path Tracing settings, with and without FSR 3! Unfortunately, Frame Generation wasn’t working properly in this update, but I still have the FPS values from it.

  1. Apparently, the problem is caused by the vignette effect. (game is seeing vignette as UI, therefore not interpolating those parts of the picture probably.) You can pause the video at 12:38 and use your "." and "," keys on your keyboard to go back and forth by 1 frame. You see the very middle part of the screen is actually running with frame generation. while the rest of the screen is not (meaning the vignette effect is not reaching to the very middle section of the screen.)

Solution: There was a post on Cyberpunk2077 subreddit saying if you disable vignette effect(via mods) it works properly.

Conclusion: This is next-level disappointment on the part of CDPR.

  2. CDPR and the devs are just incompetent. Launched the game in flop and buggy state. Most of the promised made for the game were unfulfilled. They can't even implement FSR3 even with access to the game's source code and with help of AMD after all these months.

Modders are doing quite a better job at this even without a pay.

  3. Great i like this gpu and so the only complaint i have is efficiency since this beast draws quite a "bit" of power (i know some people are okay with it) in my side i would take the 4080 super despite it being more expensive (and no im not a ray tracing fan either) just saying and so the only card i can agree where efficiency is less required is only in the rtx 4060/4060ti and i consider them as terrible cards but in my opinion the 7900 xtx draws way more power while the 4080 is still quite a "little bit" more expensive than what it should be.

  4. With all honesty, I have a 4070 super and, with DLSS Quality at 1080p, I get above 60 fps no problem with path tracing. You can discuss that DLSS quality is bad at 1080p, but I honestly see no difference between native and DLSS quality. Maybe it's the model of my gpu or the specific chip, but idk. The test our friend here ran showed an ok result too. I don't have the Phantom Liberty DLC, but I think that with frame gen it'll be pretty playable with a 4070 super (the difference between it and the 4070 ti isn't even that big).

  5. Great video. I will say though that you can get a great rt overdrive (pt) experience on the 7900 xtx. I played the whole game that way. You'll want to use XeSS 1.3.1 upscaling though in balanced or performance mode, which will have quality similar to FSR quality mode (yes the FSR in cyberpunk is that bad). That will get you 50 to 65 fps at 1440p with xess performance mode or 45 to 55 fps at XeSS balanced mode. Then you can enable fsr3 frame generation with the mod (which actually works) and basically double the fps. I won't like to my channel but I've got a video of that running around 120 fps with smooth frame times, max settings including rt overdrive, in Pacifica. Like i said i played the entire game that way. There are a couple areas it falls apart though. Performance is too low by the tree in dogtown and also the trees in arasaka tower

  6. Not gonna lie bro, I JUST realized that you make the GPU number red for AMD and green for Nvidia.. lol. Anyways, I LOVE watching your videos, even the cards I do not have and never will have, I love learning and you make it so fun! Keep up the great work man, you are the GOAT of benchmark videos!!

  7. •RTX 4090/5090+ray tracing overdrive + cyber punk 2077+8k res+ ultra performance dlss=?

•if nvidia refuses to send you rtx 4090 again, then, when, rtx 5090 launches you can request nvidia to send rtx 5090 & test it
