  1. Really hoping for an ambitious new Deus Ex entry. Assuming this report is true, just hope their ability to execute can match that ambition.

  2. I am genuinely curious about which dumb-dumb it was among the execs that was stupid enough to sell off these studios in pursuit of pretend money that was obviously a scam. I'd have a thing or two to say to that idiot, at least.

  3. As long as there’s no crunch, unrealistic deadlines, unkept promises, I’m all in on Deus Ex delivering what Cyberpunk 2077 couldn’t. Everything I just list above is what doomed Cyberpunk, hopefully Eidos doesn’t follow down said path of CDPR.

  4. I really tried to get into Deus Ex, I've started a few of the games in the past but they just bored the crap out of me. I'm more eager to hear what's going to be happening with Thief now that Square Enix can no longer balls that franchise up! As for Cyberpunk 2077 …I'm 2 years in and still loving it, I don't see any comparison to be made here to Cyberpunk 2077 and Deus Ex other than some aesthetics.

  5. Part two was kinda weird, part one: "oh no, they are forcing so many People to be augmented to keep their jobs its HORRIBLE" second game: "Yeah there were only a couple, we put them all in one camp, no problem"

  6. Eidos Montreal were literally ordered to wrap up Mankind Divided and get it out the door ahead of schedule specifically so they could move on to Avengers faster. Hence its only natural they want to go back and make the game they wanted to make and not the cut down game they were made to push out the door by their bosses in Japan.

  7. How about they shut their mouths, put their heads down and build it. We’re not playing the hype game anymore. You do it and we’ll praise you. You fail and we’ll forget it, but if you hype this up and don’t deliver. We’ll, no one will feel bad if your studio becomes a was and your IP gets sold to Bethesda so they can make yet another soulless open world exploration game that is “Skyrim, but cyberpunk”.

  8. I grew up with Deus Ex. I've bought the original at least 10 times whenever I saw it in some bargain bin. Maybe they should start by remaking the original Deus Ex and upgrading it graphically before jumping into an open world Cyberpunk style game. Build hype about the franchise with the original and go from there.

  9. I'm really liking what 2022 has brought in gaming world, justice has been served several times and karma has done it's thing. Few people deserve a comeback as much as Eidos. I've become pretty much immune to any form of hype, let's hope new Deus Ex can change that even a little…

  10. Funny that Deus Ex already did what Cyberpunk couldn't…introduce a pre-order campaign for premium content in the game. Seriously I'm so tired of these losers, regardless of their game, referring to Cyberpunk. Execute a finished product? Yea, a lot of people already do that. Bring in hype for a dystopian cybernetic future? Again, they already did that with the first game and Cyberpunk did actually hype that up to its peak. Make a game that's huge and vibrant? Good luck. As much as people talk smack about open world games a lot of the top tier titles do manage to retain a lot of content in main areas while leaving room to breath, I hardly expect them to do anything beyond Cyberpunk if you actually look at the nitty gritty. Focus on making a big fun game first before acting like you need to insert millions of npcs and hundreds of active events going on. You're first mistake is literally putting a game like Cyberpunk as your standard, especially with current technology and figuring out which platforms to appeal for on top of scaling the entire thing. But go, go have fun dealing with that mess and if they cry about the uphill battle, its their own fault.

  11. I do like CP2077 damn it; it wasn't that bad as people say it is. God, it was hype that killed the game but it itself was not a bad game or anything.

  12. SE focusing back to the JP studios is overall a good thing for players. The studios got more creativity freedom. The company being less EA of the east. And those who made these interesting new IP games like Triangle Strategy, DioField Chronicle, Harvestella need more attention.

  13. I personally don’t see Eidos ditching Adam Jensen’s story just yet, least I hope not. If I recall correctly, they really wanted Mankind Divided to be THE game to finish Jensen’s story and lead into the first game, but couldn’t do it because Square kept interfering in development and making them cut content. So hopefully their next entry in the series is the one they really want to make to wrap things up without all the BS involved.

  14. Embracer Group:

I know you, Raziel. You are worthy.

    Raziel:

What madness is this? What pitiful company is this that I have come to inhabit? Death would be a release, next to this travesty.

    Embracer Group:

You did not survive Square Enix, Raziel. I have only spared you from total dissolution.

    Raziel:

I would choose oblivion over this existence!

    Embracer Group:

    The choice is not yours.

    Raziel:

    I am destroyed!

    Embracer Group:

    You are reborn.

The birth of one of Square Enix's traps the essence of life. It is this soul that animates the corpse you ‘lived’ in. And that Raziel, is the demise of The series. There is no balance. The games of the dead remain trapped. I can not spin them in the wheel of fate. They can not complete their destinies.

Redeem yourself. Or if you prefer, avenge yourself. Settle your dispute with Square Enix. Destroy them and your brethren. Free their souls and let the wheel of fate churn again. Use your hatred to reave their souls… I can make it possible. Become my soul reaver, my angel of death…

    meanwhile in an old city

Basso: Been a while hasn't it Garrett

Garrett:…. so any work or another dead end?! Let's hope this isn't another Squared job if you get my drift.

Basso: heh always the optimist. hands Garrett a contract from Embracer Group

    Garrett: this looks promising…

  15. Assuming Unreal 5 was not all smoke and mirrors and they cyberpunk like Demo is something that could be leveraged enough to be stand alone game, it might work. Cyberpunk seems it was tied to a certain style, but a more scaled back game would work.
