Quest Director plays Cyberpunk 2077 #75!

Read more about Cyberpunk 2077➜ https://cyberpunk2077.mgn.tv

After a short (not really) chat we have jumped into Cyberpunk 2077 and finished Claire’s storyline, along with the stalker quest for Blue Moon. At the end of the stream, we have ended up testing a lot of that sweet Pathtracing on my 2080Ti!

Cyberpunk 2077 is an open-world RPG that I have co-created. As I love talking about design, storytelling, and psychology in games, I have started streaming on Twitch and discussing it all with my audience.

My goal is to share everything I have learned over a decade in the AAA games industry, openly exchange ideas, explain creative decisions and encourage the next generation of game designers and storytellers to create.

  1. Crazy this stream 75 wonder if you will hit 80. As Far as Witcher I am curious what you think of remaking games and people not seeing the Jump between games, Is the worry Witcher 1 remake could surpass Witcher 3? Considering its going to be open world. In exsample I have seen some people play mafia and then play mafia 2 and mafia 2 feels a bit dated by comparison. Just wondering what people Who have never played the Witcher series would think if they go from Witcher 1 remake to the og witcher 2. I suppose with RE4 remake Capcom were able to surpass RE2 remake with Re4 remake so it is possible. But im not sure if people who play Re2 remake than Re4 remake would feel the same jump that people got when playing The OG re2 and later playing The OG re4 hope that makes sense.

  3. Hey pawel first of all I absolutely adore your projects. I am eagerly waiting for the new cdpr projects. I am not a game dev but I know that you consider the critics. I have some interesting side quest ideas I hope you consider include some of them ideas for upcoming games. Here are my topics:

    1) A side quest where the protagonist finds clue about a serial killer who copycats slasher movie killers. This serial killer is obsessed with Michael Myers or Jason from friday the 13th you find clues about him in the open world that leads you to his creepy dark basement and he set some traps that kind of shit

    2) A mad scientist tries to gain superpowers in his laboratory. You get in his lab and find some experimental interesting stuff

    3) A poor Mother who lost her 7 year old child tries to resurrect him trying religious cult style things and ends up with more grief for her.

    4) Protagonist meets a magician (that side quest might have some paranormal stuff in it it could be very interesting)

    5) A highschool boy watchs too much gore stuff from İnternet and slowly starts to turn unstable his parents are desperate and aware of it and needs your help to take him to a therapist before its too late.

    6)  A stranger npc falls in love with a pretty girl but lady ignores him. You meet him in a bar or somewhere else in the open world and help him where you try to make girl fall in love with him as well.

    7)  A movie director hires you for a job. He shoots a movie but the lead actor is a method actor. It irritates the director and it makes filming nearly impossible so he hires you secretly to keep lead actor in his line.

The other three are from the witcher side activities:

8)It is rumored that a giant (like vhagar size from house of dragon) talking ancient dragon nest in a cave. Protagonist searches for dragon clues and finds several wild animal corpses. When it leads him to the cave, ancient dragon talks with a unbeliavably deep voice "go away" protagonist chooses to fight and a epic glorious boss fight theme kicks in with cinematic and interactive cutscenes. (cyberpunk 2077 boss fights were too bad I am not keen on witchers as well but I find dettlaff and olgierd boss fights amazing) I hope new games boss fights will be fucking gooodd <3

    9) A new creepy powerful and mysterious video game character, like mirror master from witcher 3 or strange man from red dead redemption series,
This old man meets the protagonist in a quest, creepy man tells dark future prophecies and has incredible powers like (o'dimm). That character might be a very good material and has interesting cutscenes like what you did with mirror master spoon scene and etc.

    10)  An invisible ghost of a death person voice is heard in woods and protagonist investigates it.
Turns out this place is cursed with this person and this quest goes on…

I know it has been a long writing but I really want you to read and consider them seriously. These are just 10 quest ideas I hope you'll design even much better than these, much more epic, interesting, with amazing stories in it. I hope you include some of these consepts in your new game projects in side activities and one more thing please make the Main story much longer and with high amount of amazing boss fights :)))) love your job.

  4. Problem with Jedi is that its NOT scalable. you get the same FPS when you have 3070 or 4090, or when you run 1080p, vs 4k. you get the same FPS. thats spaghetti codes. NOT A single other game i know does this. I mean cyberpunk 2020 release wasnt that bad in term of performance. i can run it just fine. Not jedi tho.

  5. Homosexuality question is really an interesting question and its worrying how poorly such matters are handled in gaming industry. Most devs seem to just randomly throw in homosexual characters to look cute to certain people without actually making them interesting characters, I mean how important is someone's sexuality in the story? Cyberpunk is a great example of how it should be done, Claire and Judy both have distinct personalities, both have unique struggles that comes from their sexuality and how they were perceived by others. Judy and Claire never felt like characters that were thrown in randomly to please certain people. If your story and world allows such matters to be discussed or included and you have solid characters with proper backgrounds I dont see any issues with their sexualities, all that matters is that how their personalities are shaped up by their sexuality in relation to the world theyre living, is it believable/relatable or is it corny? From what I understand judging from people's criticisms , in Horizon, the sexuality of the character and how it was written is so random it doesnt fit the world at all maybe because how poorly developed that aspect of the character is, take out homosexuality and you end up with an avarage character and thats problem with most other games as well, the issue isnt the sexuality but how poorly written the characters are in relation to the world they supposedly belong so people just think (naturally) sexuality part is just random and corny.

  6. 1:04:16 You miss the point that you guys managed to do it in a natural way and nothing feel forced unusual unnatural by any means. Same as Bioware did with the character dorian in dragon age inquisition. What most games do nowadays is force down people throats all sorts of agendas political agendas views sexual orientations and so on
Also pls add 3rd person for exploration

  7. I think the ludo-narrative dissonance between main and side content can be solved, but it requieres to add more dialogue and therefore more main content, so even though I perfectly understand it can't be easily patched in the game as a regular update, Phantom Liberty is a great oportunity to fix that issue.

Maybe V can find, during the expansion, more information about the relic, and discover it actually acts slower than she thought, so the sense of urgency would not feel as limiting while still working as a push to engage with the main plot. Or maybe she can actively do something to slow down the process, getting more time and therefore makind the dissonance less aparent, while, again, still being relevant enough to push the plot forward.

As I said, I get this is a lot easier on paper than on practice, but I believe it is possible, and if someone can solve it, that's you and your team, so I'm very glad you know about the issue and look forward to see the result of your work.

  8. Feedback

I overall like the story of Cyberpunk, only I thought character interactions felt a bit lacking.

However the story doesn’t fit the game design.

If I was told I only had weeks left to live, and that there was a chance to fix it, I wouldn’t have time to do all the random stuff and side quests in Cyberpunk.

    One way to fix this:
Do the ballsy thing, and go the Fallout 1 route, with the water chip, and have an actual ‘game over’ timer.
However by doing side gigs and quests you could earn eddies for those red pills, that stalls Johnny’s take over, which should be expensive.
Like increasing the timer by paying caravans in Fallout 1 to supply the Vault with water.

Or that side quests would have an impact that could change the main plot from the get go.

Also it would’ve been interesting (and a huge gamble) if Johnny would actually try and take over, and make the game more difficult, the longer you’ve gone without pills. And maybe an ending where Johnny forcefully takes over V’s body.
