Quest Director plays Cyberpunk 2077! #52 part I

Read more about Cyberpunk 2077➜ https://cyberpunk2077.mgn.tv

After chatting about game development we have dove into Cyberpunk 2077’s side content: did few gigs and when traveling towards the reward from Muamar, Twitch Studio crashed. Second part of the stream is here: https://youtu.be/q-xLxK-1dk0

Cyberpunk 2077 is an open-world RPG that I have co-created. As I love talking about design, storytelling, and psychology in games, I have started streaming on Twitch and discussing it all with my audience.

My goal is to share everything I have learned over a decade in the AAA games industry, openly exchange ideas, explain creative decisions and encourage the next generation of game designers and storytellers to create.

  1. Personally I don't agree with the contract vs gigs criticism. I mean, Cyberpunk has greater level design variety which is much more meaningful than slight enemy variety that Witcher 3 had. Also, close to half of the gigs in 2077 contain dialogue and interactions with characters. it is just they are unavailable when you run and gun without a shred of thought, which is a cool way of encouraging stealth in my opinion.

  3. Hey Pawel! I know it has been said 100+ times at this point, and I know you cannot comment on anything, but I sincerely hope that Cyberpunk 2077 isn't abandoned after it's first expansion for the next Witcher. It will be a major disservice to the fans, the franchise, and would feel like salt in the wound.

2077 has so much untapped potential, and I hope the higher-ups in the company listen to the fans when we say that we'll support much more post-release content going forward! ☺

  5. I can never put into words what this game means to me… I don't even know what to say. Just… thank you, CDPR.
Also, can't wait for TW3 next-gen. Hopefully RTX, DLSS and HDR for PC, yes? 😉

  6. 1:39:57 I also think that level design in CP2077 is a step up from Witcher 3, mainly thanks to it's nonlinearity. This building in particular is one of those that remind me of Deus Ex. However like most areas in the game it's rather small. There are bigger areas like the Arasaka warehouse, but even there there is isn't that much to do, besides killing people. I think there was one conversation that you could overhear. In Deus Ex there would usually be some person that you can talk to, maybe also buy something from. One thing I also miss from Deus Ex games are environmental obstacles that you can overcome using skills or cyberware. And since I like stealth also secret rooms and passages. I know that open world and small linear games are different beasts, but still.

  7. Not gonna lie as soon as they mentioned next 20th Anniversary Stream as Hearts Of Stone , the first Name that came to Mind was Marcin Przybyłowicz he made it very clear in the 10th Anniversary stream PAX West where you and Marcin and others were on the Panel. He was pretty much answering all the Hearts Of Stone Questions eagerly🧐 and the lore and the music behind it. Glad to see he's back.
There's no question about his music they are all great from Ambient tracks to quest themes as well as fighting music.

He is not pretty active on twitter 🤔 so i don't know which or were the question as fans we can ask😢

  8. 1:13:16 When Bladerunner, Neuromancer and Akira came out they weren't retro yet. It's only now when technology often surpassed what was depicted in those works we look back a them and think of them as "retro". Whether they were hard sci-fi or not is a different question. I guess they were equally about mood and cool visuals as well as interesting sci-fi concepts. I think what the person asking the question meant is that the city looks too "normal" and doesn't have enough futuristic elements. But maybe I misunderstood. I think sometimes the city is too sci-fi. Every door doesn't have to be sliding star-trek cyber-door. There will still be normal old-fashioned rotating doors 100 years from now. Other people would like to see it go in the other direction – crazy and unrealistic like Star Wars or 5th Element.

  9. I like shards as a game concept that you can read the lore and convos etc. But dont you think you guys over did it this game ? There are so many shards and players would like to see this lore or hear it in convos with other characters instead of reading shards all the time. IMO there is too much lore focused on shards instead of showing player
