Quest Director plays Cyberpunk 2077! #28

Read more about Cyberpunk 2077➜ https://cyberpunk2077.mgn.tv

This week together with Philipp Weber, Acting Lead Quest Designer from CD Projekt RED, I have met Takemura and played two quests in his storyline: Down on the Street and Gimme Danger. Philipp played a key role in the design of Takemura’s quests, so he has offered a lot of interesting behind the scenes stories.

Cyberpunk 2077 is an open world RPG that I have co-created. As I love talking about design, storytelling, and psychology in games, I have started streaming on Twitch and discussing it all with my audience.

My goal is to share everything I have learned over a decade in the AAA games industry, openly exchange ideas, explain creative decisions and encourage the next generation of game designers and storytellers to create.

  1. One of the best streams so far! Stream focused on my favourite storyline and a lot of interesting cyberpunk backstage stuff. I hope to see more open guests like Philipp. Keep up good work Paweł!

  2. Haha, Pawel your intros sound so epic with the Cyberpunk music playing in the background while you’re speaking. It reminds me of sporting events and their announcers 😂🤣

  3. 4:48 – Intro transition was on point! Haha! 😀 Got me hyped for the stream, that's for sure! 😉 I always have these streams in the background on Mondays while I'm at work, since I always miss the Sunday live streams..

Now, this might be impossible to pull off, but try to get Keanu Reeves on stream for Cyberpunk 2077's 1 year anniversary! Having guests does indeed bring a refreshing dynamic to the streams, and this was a really good stream with lots of insight.

P.S. – You're getting pretty good at the game now…
or is it because you finally decided to use crafting and actually upgrade your gear!? Lol 🙂

  5. I hope you guys have a NMS comeback plan in the works because this game is an untapped gold mine waiting to be cracked open to ignore it is like how EA games abandoned Anthem and Mass Effect Andromeda…

  6. Really interesting detail about the scene with Karim I just found out: In my playthrough Johnny actually didn't troll me when I asked him about how his gig went, he gave me the right answer straight away. I assume this is somehow dependent on earlier conversations you have with him.

  7. 2:50:30 Might I add… about the "green tint" .. As Environment / Lighting Artist, I also agree and understand the decision of adding this effect, likely done through post-process, right? In fact, I've specifically studied colour theory and emotion of colours during my time at university for one of my projects. To me, it gives the game a more cinematic, gritty / uneasy feeling, perfect for a Cyberpunk world. It's also the reason why the game uses heavy Chromatic Aberration, Lens Flare and Film Grain (effects which might annoy some people, but I absolutely think they add much needed subtle elements to the game's cinematic atmosphere which really fit the genre!)

As some people have said in the chat, it's the classic Matrix vibe, and.. surprise, surprise… Keanu Reeves is also in this game. Coincidence? 🙂 Was this green tint intentional because of that? Most likely… But, if anything, from a colour-grading perspective, it also lets you see more detail in darker areas, which is further enhanced by a HDR display. People can create all these silly ReShades that "fix" the green tint (looking at you, Tyler McVicker LOL!), by adding more contrast, etc… but all they're doing is crushing black-levels and harming the original artistic direction / colours which was professionally graded and tested during production. So, yes, Pawel! I agree with you, because it's also what I would have done, personally!

  8. I love the game. Voted two times for Cyberpunk 2077 at Game Awards 2021. =)
Its good to see CDPR going back to the "coming when it's ready" approach.
I think its always better to wait some more month and let you guys work in a good environment so everyone is going to be happy at the end.
Keep up the awesome and beautiful work. You guys are awesome.

  9. The stream was awesome! Thank you and Philipp for streaming!

Takemura's wait was finally over! I have to say he still didn't wait for that long, I made him wait for much longer while completing all the side quests 😀 But he's amazingly patient.

Thanks again for finding the time for streaming and uploading here, the stories about making the game are always interesting! May you and the team have a good week!
