“A new report suggests that the highly-anticipated remake of the beloved JRPG Chrono Cross is being built on a relatively small budget. According to notable video game industry insider NateDrake, Square Enix’s upcoming Chrono Cross game will be more than a slightly updated remaster, but won’t be to the scale of Final Fantasy VII Remake. Writing on the online forum ResetEra, NateDrake notes, “It’s not a high budget release. But I don’t believe it’s a simple remaster ala FF8.” The leaker is referring to the remastered version of Final Fantasy VIII which launched in September 2019. They continue on to say that they’ve only heard “minor things” and their information is likely subject to change. Little is currently known about the remake of Chrono Cross. Speculation on the game began when a listing for it was discovered in a leak that exposed a database of games coming to the Nvidia GeForce Now service.”

“CD Projekt Red is “on track” to release the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of Cyberpunk 2077 in the first quarter of 2022, the studio’s parent company announced on Monday. CDPR had initially planned to release the update in late 2021 until it announced a delay to early 2022 in October. CD Projekt also confirmed anyone who purchased the game on either PlayStation 4 or Xbox One will receive the next-gen update for free. Since the game is currently playable on the current generation systems through backward compatibility, everyone who owns the game on a console will get the upgrade for free. If you don’t already have Cyberpunk 2077, you can buy it while it’s currently 50 percent off on the PlayStation and Microsoft Stores and get the game at a discount before the updated version comes out next year.”

“YouTube App on PS5 Now Supports HDR with Latest Update.
If you make any use of PlayStation 5’s YouTube application, you might have noticed that, earlier this week, it received a patch. We didn’t think much of it, especially as PS5 still doesn’t let you see patch notes on the system. However, the small update added something pretty nice: HDR support. Yes, after installing the latest update on the YouTube app, it’ll be compatible with HDR, meaning any videos filmed with the tech will be displayed to their fullest on the right display. If you’ve a 4K, HDR-capable set, you’ll notice the benefit.”

“Gran Turismo 7 gets an official wheel, and it’s the first direct drive one for PlayStation. It’s not really a new Gran Turismo without a shiny new wheel to accompany it, and for the release of Gran Turismo 7 next year Fanatec is doing the honours and pulling out all the stops as it introduces the first direct drive wheel for PlayStation with the GT DD Pro. It’s a piece of hardware that comes with a considerable cost, with the basic bundle that includes the direct drive hub, the bespoke GT rim and a two pedal setup coming in at 699.95EUR, running up to the premium bundle which includes a three-pedal setup and the Boost Kit 180 which increases the peak torque to 8nm. Which basically means more force feedback. The pre-orders for the GT DD Pro have just gone live, with shipments due March 14th – some 10 days after we’re expecting Gran Turismo 7 on March 7th.”
