Netrunning changes in Cyberpunk 2077 patch 1.3.

Discussing and testing some of the nerfs and changes to contagion, ping, overheat, memory wipe and sonic shock.

I think the Memory wipe and Sonic Shock changes are additions to the description but I didn’t use them previously so I can’t confirm.
I also didn’t include the short circuit animation change because I didn’t really notice a significant difference from the previous patch.
Let me know your thoughts on the netrunning changes.

  1. My takeaway from this is that cdpr "fixed" something that didn't need to be fixed instead of ya know, actually fixing the game proper. They listened to a vocal minority of players crying about how it made the game too easy and nerfed the shit out of netrunning. Cool. Way to ruin my favorite build.

I ain't playing this game to challenge myself like Darksouls, I play games to enjoy them these days. I am way too old for this tryhard bullshit. Players should feel like immortal beings if they've made the proper build choices by the endgame. If you built your character poorly, then yeah, you're gonna struggle.

I'm waiting for the Sandy/Kerez nerf (aka my newest character) in the next patch now… good thing I diversified my netrunner with assault/reflex stats as well. To be fair, dropping some of the legendary quickhacks like Contagion in endgame was getting a bit too easy, I'll admit it, but it was so satisfying. I chose to start using smgs & ars instead just to spice it up. The lack of being able to use hacks through walls is bullshit though, I can deal with the reduced damage output but that's going too far.

  2. These modifications cdpr did to the netrunner show how out of touch they really are to its own gaming comunity.
It's like the same blissful ignorance that Bethesda studios had still has , I wonder if they shared some real life humanity hating investor , Because allot of the bugs from day 0 felt very familia to fallout 3/4 bugs ,Wierdly enough even saints row 4 made parody of near every glitch found in open world games in 2013 like a foresight prediction .

  5. Nicely explained. Netrunner's been my favourite build and I've got to say I never used contagion, lol. Seems like I was missing some good ol' OP fun! Hacking through walls was possibly my favourite thing and although I get it, I'm kind of sad that it had to go out like that. I'd preferred if they kept it in but made it a bit more "clever" = to involve a bit more strategy from the player. For example make it so that you're only able to hack through one wall (instead of 15) so that you constantly have to move in missions with many rooms and enemies. Or have an enemy netrunner in every mission and if he detects you, again you need to move around and make things happen to address that. Maybe make that netrunner undetectable through walls. Hacking through walls was badass, I wish they'd try adress its OP'ness in a different way before scrapping it altogether. Now it's just post-release cut content 🙁

  6. I'm having tons of fun with my Netrunner in 1.3. I Breech, Ping, then drop contagion, and because I love shooting people in the face, I hit my invisibility and pop melons with my suppressed Psalm 11:6. With Assassin and Frozen Precision, I don't need more than one bullet usually.

  7. Absolutely biggest change is that you can't quickhack thru walls. That made hacking OP. You didn't need contagion, just system reset, short circuit etc. and you could wipe out entire buildings without being seen once.

  8. On the other hand legendary short circuit is so op wit 100&crit and 300crit damage, char level 39 with 4089/sec damage, it is stealth instakill and with silenced buzzsaw, one tap kill everything trough walls I clear that escape sequence in half the time that you use contagion in 1.3 .So now my netrunner plays more the same as the other characters. I do damage with any gun more then my gunslinger and I can kill through wall faster then any tech weapon. That is not really god gameplay change ,now it is les diversity. At level 50 short circuit 6608/sec !!! That will kill Adam Smasher in couple of short for shure.

  9. I hate the constant nerfing of netrunner and removing money exploits, changing items in loot boxes, etc.
I agree that at 16 in intelligence with it completely perked out, after level 30 it is really strong but….try hitting enemies at level 7 and find that it is rediculously lame at doing any damage at all. One has to hit a single enemy with at least 3 strong quickhacks like overheat to down them, its much easier to use a silenced overture or assault rifle or nekomata or katana. So…imagine if they nerfed guns and blades I guess people would think its a good thing and make it more "balanced" right?
If they made the quick hacks weaker after level 30 that would be easier to live with but seriously dont bother investing into intelligence anymore, its a wasted effort. Why do that when now you can get an invisibility cloak and run around slicing them up or shooting them with silenced weapons much faster. Its crazy that your position is given away with quick hacking almost immediately when they haven't seen you and no cameras have seen but eveyone will know where you are, really? Then they would also have your position revealed with the invisibilty cloak or shooting from cover with a silenced weapon, right?
I never like legendary ping as i was always blinded by the electrical items flashing green and for such a long time, it made it harder to see the enemies, so I didn't use it.
1.2 and 1.3 ruin the game IMHO as all the same glitches are there, only very minor improvements in function and immersion have been made but a whole lot of nerfing and stamping out expoits have been made. Everybody uses exploits FYI. Upgrading your gun is an exploit. An exploit is something that can be done in the game, that you feel benefits you. Farming guys to raise your SC and Level is an exploit, selling guns you craft for more than the parts cost is an exploit. Finding things in loot boxs that help you become more capable is an exploit.

People that love 1.3 (other than console players, i get why they would like better FPS) apparently think any change is good as it gives them another reason to replay it?
I'll bet over 100% of the tips and tricks videos produced before the end of august are worthless because everything they recommend is no longer working.
