I never played Cyberpunk, but i did buy Oblivion elder scrolls for the 360 on the night it was released. It had things like…. 2 minute + loading screens, frequent crashes, a crash whenever i left a house after 10 hours playing it so i lost my save. Still loved it, still epic, but it was a buggy mess.
I mean, they really had no choice that wouldn't lead on harsh criticism, if they delayed it again, everyone would complain about how they already paid for a game that will never come out, and the other option is what happened now.
I don't really blame cdpr that much here, they just took one stupid decision, and that was to release it on last gen systems, this is what ruined it, rn really, for me at least, it's so bad it's good.
I am really not surprised seeing how shitty game devs are at programming these days.
if life of black tiger passed…
Game crashed even during credits. Characters have barely emotion, AI is very weak. It's not finished, no matter the platform.
how can a game "damage the hardware". unless you are talking about the modern warfare call of duty scandal?
i would think that most consoles would limit the software from accessing certain parts of the system and memory (witch is why homebrew install requires hacking).
does the certification process check the decency of the game i.e if the game has explicit lyrics in the soundtrack or sexual content like nudity?
this is why software development needs to allow the game to run on a vanilla machine that has never seen a developer tool kit i.e. as the end user would run it and run it without any developer certificates because sometimes problems can hide from developer toolkits and certificates.
Mistakes were made AGAIN 😀
Watching footage of the game, I don't understand how anyone, ANYONE, could have played the game before launch and said "yes, this is a finished product". I can't imagine anyone who has ever played video games testing this release and saying "Yes, it's fine, it's finished, you should sell this".
It's unbelievable to me that this happened from a so-called AAA studio.
they have shot themselves in the foot now because they are going to have to do enormous amounts of work just to finish something that is already supposed to be done and then only to get back money they loose with refunds.
The shareholders of CDProjektRed got greedy and threatened to pull shares if they didn't downsize to increase profits, hence removing most of their QA team. XD
How it got passed quality control? Better qurstion. How is the game broken despite bring delayed?!
Cyberpunk on PS4 is gone!!!
I have absolute faith in CDPR. If I had bought it for console, I would not have asked for a refund. I have it on PC and am simply going to wait until it is fixed to play, no refund. In industry scale, they are a smaller company and to be fair, they had to optimize a next generation title for effectively 8 platforms – PS4, PS4 Pro, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox One X, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X and PC. Seriously, if I was them I would've said F that to the previous generation given their smaller size. Though given that, it is likely that when they began developing the game, they would not have been aware of the new generation of consoles that are here now. SO, I believe they deserve a full pardon as it appears Microsoft has given them. Do not discount the fact their previous work has been fantastic and unlike EA, they can't afford to just ignore a previous release and move onto the next. They will fix this. Have faith in this brilliant company everyone, they will do right.
I think it’s laughable that the game got through certification. I’ve shipped iOS apps. If the app crashes at any time during testing it’s instantly rejected. None of this waver stuff.
Wow this is a first in gaming history! Totaly unheard of, a game this bad:( cyberpunk got punked:(
Xbox has the gall to say that cdp worked hard on 2077, which is truly indicative of their current share in the console market.
Does anyone know where that paintng he has hung on the wall is from thank you.
Where can I get an awesome Neo Geo shirt like the one you are wearing in this video? The Neo Geo has always been one of my favorite systems, (I currently own a Japanese AES with 8 games), and would love a shirt like this too!
its weird that for once its the console port that sucks…. usually its the pc guys who get the shitty port
GameStop is so gross. Will never buy from them again. Faulty product deserves a refund. We all know GameStop's on its last legs and is desperate though. Physical media is dying in popularity.
I understand that patches may eventually address many of the issues, but this was holiday gift for a lot of people. People expect a playable game especially at AAA prices.
pirated, use a trainer, on pc w 1660ti glitches are there but aren't game breaking. sorry, hate to be that guy not trying to negate the hard work from the people in the industry but ive been gyped before buying software.
When you get beat by Black Tiger 😬
All games should be treated like this. Anyone remember how bad skyrim was, or no mans sky, or fallout 76….
I bought this game from steam and even since it had many bugs, i quite enjoyed it and it´s the first game in years which forced me to stay awake until 5 a.m. and run through Night City.
So i finished the main quests and it really is a great game and it´s quite playable on maxed out settings at 1080p on my machine so i really hope there will be enough people who won´t refund and can somehow enjoy the game so CD project red can survive for more awesome games in the future.
BTW even the steam version is DRM free, i was able to copy the game to my laptop and without steam running or any installation process, it launched just fine but obviously doesn´t run well on my laptop.
They should be ashamed of this. Poor old consoles should be left alone if you can't handle it. They should not promise the blue sky and take people's money for it.
to be honest, it's way "less bad" on the Xbox platforms. Speaking as someone who played it on PS4 (Base) and Xbox One X, it's actually pretty hard to have real crashes on Xbox. It does happen, but its a lot less common. Even the physics bugs are somewhat harder to find – but I did find some random spots that would send my character flying around then* die lol
I'm still waiting for the release of Cyberpunk Citizen 2020.
To see this game I was really excited for be in this horrible state can be worth it, if it makes everybody, both publishers and consumers accept delays instead of wanting everything ASAP.
It is something this industry needed.
The games everybody remembers are games that took all the time they needed to become the masterpieces they were, albeit very few exceptions.
Very interesting, thank you very much.
Idk is this thing is true or not, but cdpr got threats for releasing the game fast.
Sony and Microsoft: we'll refund anyone.
Steam when my savefile gets corrupted 10 hours in: You're shit out of luck buddy.
When you consider the hype and then the product…. Biggest flop since ET 2600
Looks like this "certification process" worked very well for cod cw for ps5 too…😄
Anyone know what the hot photo is of behind MVG?
Your English is perfect. Such a pleasure to listen.
I like how they're still pretending the complaints are just about shoddy performance on PS4 and Xbone and ''a couple of bugs''… keep lying, CDPR, you one hit wonder.
What other game has had a launch like this?
Just pull the game permanently on older consoles
No fixes can create a fun experience or smooth experience
I’ve been playing since day one and it’s a great game. Does it have its problems? Yes, but have some patience and enjoy. Of course I remember KOTOR and all of its issues so I may have a different perspective than these millennial brats
It's weird to think that the PC version is more stable than the console versions
hey i own 2 out of the 4 books you have to your left there
The real question is who’s that in the picture behind you and why is it framed?
you can't really blame the studio for this. just unfortunate circumstances and tight working restrictions.
Wait so how has literally any Bethesda game ever gotten certified haha
3:33 I have seen this video a few times already, but now rewatching this after your Shantae video, now when you say “For example, if I was working on a Nintendo Switch game…”
It’s almost as if you knew what the certification process was 😛
CP77 is a tragedy to surpass F76.
As a QA tester for one of the top 3 companies, it frustrates me that some things are allowed to get through, whilst other things are not. Which from a gameplay stand point of view are more disruptive or a poor user experience. Day one patches are all to common now adays, which is an eaier way of getting their product out fast. But that's legal for you. Cyberpunk 2077 is a great example of this.
piracy kiddos
