There has been quite a few updates on the state of CD Project Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 progress and future in recent days. So in this video I look at what Adam Kicinski is saying about their strategy and road map to move forward, we look at the Steam stats and the current player base and speculate whether it even makes sense to develop and put the work into a multiplayer mode and other features that have been promised. Can CD Project Red pull a ‘Hello Games’ on this one and turn this game around? Maybe even turn it into a competitor to GTA Online? Let’s find out.

Please share your thoughts in the comments underneath. I read all comments!

  1. I built a new PC to play Cyberpunk after I built it and played it I realized I don't care about the game 😂 I just been addicted to playing Apex Legends 😬

  2. I love the concept of this game, the art, the aura and just anything “Cyberpunky”. But it was a massive disappointment.
I would be very pleased to have a well performing multiplayer mode added. (Not paid for) preferably though, would rather they just patch and perfect the game as it is. However, I think the best route for the Dev team is to accept they messed up and move on to the next project. With a well made sequel, possibly, in the future.

  3. This is why I don't trust game devs anymore. They overpromise and under deliver because they don't need people to play the game. They just need them to buy it. It's the same as Hollywood. They don't need people to like the movie. They just need them to buy the tickets.

  5. Oof, that article on Tech radar is misleading af.

"We intend to live up to what we promised our gamers in January," Kiciński said.

It means DLCs + expansions. It is a reaffirmation of commitment to the game to their share holders.

  6. 2-3 years is just too late for me. Now that we've seen how different the game is from the concept we were sold on in 2018 (the RPG/choice aspect of it), the damage has been done. I just don't think anybody is genuinely excited about this game anymore. The product we were promised was a lie, and the game will never be what I and many others wanted.

I wanted a hyper-immersive, story-rich game set in a dark future; one in which that I could augment my character's body with dozens of different cybernetic implants to make me into a one-man army. A game where every single one of my choices, no matter how big or small, would cause the story to take a slightly different path.

What I got was a generic, albeit stunning-looking, shallow open-world first-person shooter where only 2% of the choices I made actually mattered. The cyberware aspect of the game that pulled so many people in, including myself, is also incredibly shallow.

Everything about the game except for the graphics and the design of Night City was an incredible disappointment.
