In this Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 guide, we talk about how hybrid builds in the game are not really a thing.

Cyberpunk 2077 is an open-world, action-adventure RPG set in the dark future of Night City — a dangerous megalopolis obsessed with power, glamor, and ceaseless body modification. ~Steam Store

  1. Off topic but, I miss hacking enemy networks and I miss the passive mod slots and mods. The update was overkill. I think developers listen to Reddit, Twitter, and YouTube to much. Social media does not represent most of America.

  2. Imo playing on very hard you will have to spec into something that supports your main focus. for example with netrunning some kind of ram regen or most importantly crowd control as when many people shoot at you at once without emp (from grenades or the yinglong) or anything or dodge or something, you will be dead in seconds even if you oneshot them because you still have a downtime between uploads and monowire or smart weapons do just that. so the higher difficulty you play the more you will have to syngerize with your main focus. Just like in dnd multiclassing is the strongest thing you can do in dnd to overcome one classes shortcoming for example a sorclock – where you can exchange spell for sorcery slots and replenish them with short rest and have unlimited spellstlots, making you a godlike being. we shouldn't treat hybrids like mixing specs like a jack of all traits (because that makes it worse than the single one), but an enhancement to your main spec, but you have to know how to build just like in baldurs gate aka dnd and then you actually come out stronger in the end by closing the gaps that are a builds shortcomings. but yea. everybody should just have fun 🙂 (so yes true hybrids are not a lie but weaker than the single just for funsies mostly – aka powerwise useless, because you lose depth over access – but hybriding like you should by trying to enhance you is totally valid and they want you to by giving so many skillpoints)

@tomcascaddan8319 sums up the buildcrafting of cyberpunk really nicely

  3. This game is not complex enought to be able to have hybrid builds. You just choose your main damage skill and the rest is utility. For example, just put together sandavistan + optical camo + apogee = broken build, either for melee or range. If you choose to invest in pistols then thats where your dmg is coming from, sure you can put some points in quickhacks for utiliy, to help with stealth (distracting enemies, disable cameras, etc). But at the end you have to choose between using sandavistan, cyberdeck or berserker and that will shape your build. Enemies are very much the same, sure maybe voodoo boys are harder to quickhack, but that's about it. That beign said the game is easy, even on very hard, so almost every build could potentially work, so you can play however you want but that doesn't mean is better than specialized builds, just means the game is very forgiving and casual friendly.

  4. For this to be true you have to only be talking about killing enemies. You can absolutely tell the difference in actual missions. A netrunning katana and a sandy katana don’t blow up the antenna the same way

  5. Hybrid simply means hybrid. Better if it covers more bases like ranged, melee, stealth, and bossing encounters. A good build has to be hybrid to cover all bases. Most importantly is that it fits the roleplaying theme you are going for in a way that is possible in game with attribute and perk point limitations. Or just use console to increase attribute and perk points to make your own impossible hybrid build. Multiclassing in dnd games has no bearing on what the definition of "hybrid" is 😂. An easy hybrid is melee blades with throwing weapons and snipers. Which covers melee, stealth, long range, headshots, and bossing, with just reflexes and cool covering the damage scaling for all weapons used.

  6. Actually in Cyberpunk the classes are
    Netrunner
    Street Samurai
    Solo
    Sniper
    Driver/Wheelman
    Techie
    Bounty Hunter

You're just simplifying it down to the 3 roles of all RPGs (Ranged/Melee/Magic)

  7. Here's an example where two different skill trees support each other better than either alone: the level 55 Engineer passive bonus plus the Raven Microcyber deck plus Contagion. The level 55 Engineer passive bonus causes Chain Lightning to set enemies on fire and grants +40% Burn chance. I've tested this – it makes Bolt shots able to detonate up to 3 enemies over a pretty large area. Consider that the 40% Burn chance is for each enemy affected by Chain Lightning – typically at least one of them is gonna blow up. (You can even use the Laika tech revolver for 100% Burn chance, since it has 65% to begin with.) Often the explosion from the enemies that do blow up will hit the others. It's like getting up to 5 uses of Detonate Grenade for free. Or, it's like having a few more grenade charges.

  8. All of this only matters if you wanna optimise the fun out of your playthrough.
I used to be bothered about this, should i okay netrunner? Should i be stealth ninja?
I just asked, what would i do night city irl?
I went pistols, shotguns and gorilla arms, minor skill into reflexes. Works fine. Its not multiplayer, don't have to prove anything by playing zero death on very hard. Im not even a straamer or Youtuber, why tf am i bothered so much.

  9. Yeah I don't know why your comment section is full of idiots, this game got a really dumb influx of people ever since the anime, but they're on overdrive here lmao

  10. There are no hybrid builds because the game has no classes. Hybrid as a concept makes no sense in Cyberpunk 2077. It would be like saying I'm a hybrid build because I shoot firearms and train boxing. It's a nonsense concept in this game.

  11. Maybe you can't make 'hybrid builds' but creating interesting synergies is where a lot of the fun in this game comes from. For example you could do thermal katana, roll thermal damage on all your gear and then spread contagion everywhere and make everything explode etc.

Optimal? No. A fun deviation from the other mindless builds? Yes.

  12. People here need to chill. Play the game however you want to. You are completely fine to play whatever you want. You can finish the game easily with a hybrid build. He is just talking about the best builds in the game, which are not hybrid builds.

  13. Mixing weapon types like blunt + pistol and therefore into two different trees/attributes makes obv no sense and that's the core message. It's fun, but that's not the argument.

The point is that you usually gain nothing from mixing weapons other than a more varied gameplay experience.

  14. You need to go back and play the game. Your idea of what classes exist is wrong and limited. Synegy exists with hybrids cyberware and damage types. If you are one shotting enemies.. Dude you playing on easy play on hard and you have to play smart.

  15. You have to decide what is your main build and put most of the PerkPoint and install the correct cyberware to achieve the maximum result AND use the other attributes as support (hybrid) using less PerkPoint

You will not get a good result in a True Hybrid if you divide your PerkPoints equally into 2 or 3 different attributes and do the same with cyberware, because you don't have enough PerkPoint to get ALL skill in multiplos atributte ; and don't have unlimited Cyberware capacity

  16. I think it doesn't make sense to hybridize your build in terms of combat, but there are non-combat situations that benefit from hybridization. For instance, using body or tech to open doors, or using netrunning for access points.

  17. If you ask me, you’re idea of a build is a misconception. You talk only about perks and att, but a build also includes the gear that you are using. That is CW and weapons you use when talking bout Cyberpunk. You only talk about perks.

I get it , when you mix things up in CP you don’t really get better of an outcome than just purely go on netrunning, or sandevistan because they are the best builds in the game, that’s fair. But that’s not explaining why your “builds” ranking doesn’t involve hybrid builds. Even if mixing it up isn’t as valuable than SOME of pure builds, it doesn’t mean that they don’t deserve to even be considered in the ranking.

    Last but not least.
Yh, we all here to have fun, so why all of your CP build videos only involve those best and not “fun” builds? Why don’t you promote having fun in the game, but instead promote the most boring , op build in the game, imo? And tubers that I watch like Sam bram or Benjamin winters don’t have tell me to have fun because their passion makes the fun, and inspire me to do fun things in the game. Don’t pose and start to talk about having fun in the game.

  18. There are no good builds in this game because you are always forced to use certain weapons with certain skills for example you cannot use tech weapons with net runner perks or smart weapons with anything else besides netrunner skill tree etc

  19. Hybrid builds are real. Your testing is suboptimal. Try rushing the guards in front of the Dogtown gate with your katana. The snipers and turrets will pick you apart while you're slashing at goons. But with a silenced pistol, you can eliminate high-value targets before diving in with your kat to murder the mob in seconds.

  20. I think FS81 has tried for hours to unpick the game mechanics and find an example of hybrid that he can make a video about. He found that every hybrid doesn't meet his requirements of being better than the sum of its parts, they all just equally strong, so this video is venting his frustration.

  21. I think that the flaw of the argument "the parts dont make a greater whole" is that you currently have so many perk points available that you can create multiple "wholes" within a single build without limiting either of them, obviously there are exceptions to this but even then it doesnt hurt to have a backup plan for when your netrunner has no ram/overclock, when your melee build can't reach or your gun runs out of ammo, etc etc.

  22. Ok first of all, the game is way too easy in anything except very hard. And some full builds are op. 1. Full netrunner with axoltl and 100% crit chance 2. Berserker melee full build is unkillable. Perhaps the weakest of them is sandevistan + rifles? Hibrid buils do have problems and stealth is still way too op and too easy in ALL cases.
