Ok so this is where I’m at in the main quest too. I’m glad I’m not the only one the was completely confused about what to do next. At this point I don’t trust Johnny. I don’t think he has Vs best interest at heart. Alt seems completely uncaring. I only have Takumuras quest left. At this point I’m feeling helpless. I killed the voodoo boys and ran too judys house lol think I’m just gonna stay there and end my journey through cyberpunk 2077 lmao

According to the 2020 backstory Johnny actually cared for Alt. I think he actually cares for a lot of people but he's too much of an asshat to admit it.
And Yes He assaulted Arisaka tower twice in person.

What I got out of it..
The black wall is just a big firewall to that separates the rogue AIs from the humans.
Voodoo Boys believe a war with the AIs and humans are inevitable, and they want to side with the AIs. However, because of the blackwall, they cannot communicate with Skynet.. I mean the rogue AIs. Alt is the only AI (or one of the few) that has travelled through the blackwall, so the Brigitte needs Alt’s to help them communicate with the rogue AIs (like their intentions, commitments, ideas, strategy, how to create terminators, etc).
In order to convince Alt to help them, they plan to use Johnny’s engram. That is why they commissioned Evelyn for the job.
Evelyn learn what was on the relic and made a deal with Netwatch (who would have paid her what they would have paid Yorinobu for it). In order to grab the relic before the Voodoo Boys, Evelyn spoke with Dexter to hire us. Things would have worked for Evelyn had Hellman not told Saburo what his son was planning to do (sell the relic to Netwatch). This forced Saburo to leave Japan for Night city to face Yorinobu at the plaza.
The failed heist led to Brigitte frying Evelyn’s brain, which led to Forrester doing what he did to Evelyn, then led to what Fingers did, which led to what the Scavs did, which led to what we did. Whether Brigitte would have fried her whether Evelyn succeeded, I guess we’ll never know. But the Voodoo Boys did try to fry our own brains…
BTW, All of Johnny’s memories are fairly inaccurate. In fact, Blackhand is conveniently omitted from Johnny’s memories in the Tower attack. Yes, he loved Alt, but he was mainly responsible for her death (unplugging her while she was still in cyberspace). He attacked the tower to free Alt, but it was Militech’s plan (led by Blackhand) to destroy Arasaka.
