Frontal Cortex Cyberware can be a Netrunners best friend, or a glass cannons saving grace. But which pieces of gear are best? And which are pretty useless?

Hey bro can you make a video on how to install nu-respec mod for resetting attributes in cyberpunk 2077, I tried lot but didn't succed 😅
Hacking gunners? – netgunner
When running netrunners, I personally prefer ex-disc, memory booster and either limbic system enhancer for crits, mechatronic core if I run cool for better contagion usage, or self-ice early game to avoid getting detected.
Mechatronic core with corrosive poison if you run a build with cool and tech is actually a decent option if you've decided to avoid guns completely by ignoring Body and Reflexes
Glass cannon build can be improved when you get gorilla arms then the skin armor mod and max HP augment. Does it help? A little. You still die from many stuff but I found It helps me alot.
It hurts me so much that there is only 2 out of possible 3 slots of frontal cortex cyberware that is available for those who don't spend points on intelligence 🙁 I always have to feel like I'm missing something when I don't play netrunner.
In an age where everyone and everything is connected to the internet, hackers are KINGS
A rare RAM upgrade being 1 RAM unit every 7 seconds while maxed out Biosynergy being 1 every 5 means you're nearly doubling your RAM recovery. I also wonder if the ultimate Quickhack perk stacks on top of the Ram Upgrade, in which case it's even stronger. For quickhack builds that like to do a lot of set-up prior to the killing, fighting bosses or running stealth, it's more reliable than RAM-on-kill effects. Meanwhile, the RAM Manager's cooldown means if you had 40 base RAM – which is, I'm fairly sure, way higher than what you can possibly get – it'd be 12 RAM/4 minutes, effectively 0.05 RAM per second. Useful for a short fight or if you want to load your enemy down with a ton of hacks to start, but in a longer mission it's less efficient. Ex-Disk alone has a similar issue: good for frontloading hacks, but doesn't help you much over a longer fight.
So for the direct RAM related cyberware I'd actually say RAM Upgrade and Memory Boost are the best, depending on what you're doing – the former is more useful against bosses or during stealth, while the latter shines when you're tearing through grunts. Ex-Disk is decent third place but shines best with a Memory Boost, while the RAM Manager is the least useful. The crit boosters are probably more worthwhile, especially given you should have the quickhack-crit perk and probably legendary Short Circuit.
Mechatronic Core is hard to rank – for a quickhack build, it's useless, because robots are so weak to Shock and rare enough that you should just grab hacking related cyberware which will help you in the 90% of fights where you only face humans. Heal-on-kill is more generally useful, but still probably not something a hacker is going to run.
Luckily I saved my game before buying the amenesis perk. I tried it out and I went straight down to zero and was unable to hack. So I use the Camillo Ram manager instead
Holy dude your channel is growing fast keep it up!
I thought I was going to have a hybrid weapons/hack build. So I skipped on tech. But after getting the crit chance/damage cyberware with a sandevistan I'm not missing tech. And it's game breaking if I do use a cyberdeck with short circuit. But that's not special in late game.
FRONTAL LOBE?????!?
A "Gunner Hacker" build…?
I refer to that as the "Crit Runner" build.
Fun fact. in the anime, Adam Smasher had "self ice" equipped when Lucy tried to fry him during the final show down.
I'm doing my first nettrunner run and I'm having the time of my life
Agree with the list wholeheartedly. tetra tonic mk4, self delete and sys-reset w/reboot optics and shortcirc makes an absolutely disgusting combo even on a 3 Int build. 9 levels to invest in destroying the balance of the game isn't a huge ask.
In my opinion, the Camillo ram manager is completely useless once you get the perk that makes it so you can’t go under a certain amount of ram
Now rank all the doors in cyberpunk!
Shootey hackey build should be called the NetGunner build.
heal on kill is great for a net gunner build or a net samurai build imo, pair it with the crit chance boost + legendary short circuit, and memory boost on kill, and you have turned your glass cannon into a killing machine fueled by the blood of its enemies. add some points to cold blood for extra nutrient processing capabilities.
At this point he should do a worst to best sex scene in the game just for fun because he is running out of items to rank.
I hated the fact that crit was tied to int. As an unga bunga body boi I would have love to see my Guts produce massive numbers but alas I only got to use the anti-mech one since I was all Body and cool
You should do
Which gang is the most dangerous
Best Cyberpunk 2077 Content Creator Ever.
I have a pretty easy system for this one. For a netrunner, equip Self-ICE, Ex-Disk, and Memory Boost. Easy stealth hacking, never even have to engage in combat. For a non-hacking build, equip Heal-On-Kill, Visual Cortex Support, and Limbic System Enhancement. Crit up, health up, can't get more simple than that. Even if you're using the lesser versions with low intelligence, it's worthwhile to throw on anything into critical hits that you can.
You said need a name for your hacker/gunner build right? How does Netgunner sound?
Am curious about your net-gunner build. I got bored of being a pure netrunner by mid game since I already had a tetratonic by then so I decided to just use my katana instead of killing people with cyberhacks. The result was a slasher build that focuses on cyber-optics jammer from breach protocol + the quickhack and an optics cammo in case of emergency. I die in 1/2 shots, but damn is it cool to play it like that.
Awesome! And can you rank worst to best legendary operating systems for netrunner?
I mean as far as the point put forward in self ice. It’s genuinely sad that at any time I have the ability to cancel electric, poison, and burning just off perks and one skin mod. Not to mention the possible 20% damage knock off for my Body/Cool chooms. (Indestructible and Pain Editor)
I’ve tried to dabble in a crit build, with a stack of weak spot detection, a fortuna mod, limbic, berserk (Zetatech [less time cool down]with 45% up crit rate) and the rates added from stats and perks. Only missed out on the 5% of west world. This created, granted in the moment of berserk and cold blood, a total of 76% ish. Without any weapon affiliation.
Anyways, as a Berserk or Sande main, it’s typically a Mechetronic Core, Heal on Kill, and self ice on a stealth build. Perfect for the as mentioned disruption of hackers locating you as a non Int steath build.
I've stopped using Short Circuit bec i like longer firefights. i use it sometimes for stealth missions when it's necessary that no civilian enemies die. i wish that enemies would call for backup or that they would come in waves. there should be just more of them. shooting at very hard is just too easy. even with a Netrunner Build. btw, good comparison, like always!!
Excellent as always! Really great run down.
I took your name
For your Hacker Gunner build you could call it a “NetGunner”….that too corny?
There's fun in going hard on spamming Cripple Movement (which has no cooldown) with Annihilation and Cold Blood speed boost perks. For that, Netwatch cyberdeck + Ex-Disk + Camillo gives the RAM necessary to immediately queue Cripple on entire areas without waiting for the spread to kick in. Shotgun in hand, Bloodrush triggers and you feel as much like a speedster as when using the Sandevistan. Since you're investing in Body, you can have Legendary Bioconductor chopping 72 seconds off of Camillo's cooldown, and might as well add a Kerenzikov to help with hopping between your fish-in-a-barrel before they uncripple 😅
As a name for the hacking gunner build how about calling it a combat decker, decker being the name for a netrunner in the ttrpg Shadowrun.
I play with a mod that does add a lot more hacks for the AI as well as legendary variants of all the cyber wear. My normal set up is ex disk, mem boost(the legendary variant does 5 😂) and legendary self ice. I’m definitely the hack in from my car and let system rest and contagion run loose lol
I think your content is stellar. Keep them coming. Great work.
Ram upgrade is fine, it does what it needs to do, but not fast enough.
