  1. She didnt have direct access to V’s brain until he plugged himself into the mikoshi access point. She had no way of knowing how badly his nervous system was damaged until he actually got there and therefore couldnt have known that it had been damaged beyond repair. Up until that point she could have easily thought that V’s mind was still salvageable

  2. I don't think it was deliberate because Alt is a netrunner/programmer and not someone in the field of biology. From the perspective of someone in software engineering, you would be able to just put a different engram on the relic, and everything should work out well because a programmer would not expect the machinery they work with to change. If you put 1+1 into a computer, it will always give you 2; Alt most likely thought the same about the human body and thought it would act in a predictable, stable manner, like a computer.
Meanwhile, someone like Hellman, who has something to do with biology, immediately recognised the danger.
I don't think it's deliberate, but rather a characterisation. Nobody is perfect; everyone makes mustakes; even AIs.

  3. my personal headcanon is that Alt is aware of how much influence she has over Johnny, and giving him a new body, capable of moving between realspace locations, is part of her plan to unify the Net and take over the world

  4. I think "Alt" had this planned, the AI that took on her "soul" is puppetteering V. I think that the AI is planning a Net War. We know from Brigitte that the Wild AIs are beginning to figure out a way through the Blackwall. Then we get that the Wild AI see humans as toys to use for their schemes. If "Alt" wants to wage a Net War, what better way than taking somebody who interacted with much of Night City, from the lowly to the great? This is data the AI can use to figure out human temdencies and patterns. Remember what the AI did when presented with V's "human factor"… it stopped, it thought, and then it said "yes, this could work". The AI was analyzing V's past and present to calculate the probability of V managing to destroy Mikoshi where her legions had failed and saw that there was great possibility, so it banked on V.

Now imagine what would happen with Johnny or V trapped beyond the Blackwall, their memories and interactions being used as data to formulate a tactical battleplan to besiege human-kind. There would be a devestating Net War, one where the Wild AIs could sieze control of humans and use them as their puppets, pulling their strings and making them do whatever the AIs saw fit. Humans would be in grave danger, they would face annihilation. This would give reason for Johnny, going with a version that Johnny went with Alt, to force a crack in Blackwall to send a message to V. It's coming, the Wild AIs are coming! Find Netrunners, save humanity! Johnny has always at least somewhat cared for the innocent with his rant against Arasaka, how the corps stole the water then the farmland. Johnny doesn't want the innocent to suffer. This would give reason for him to contact V.

V interacted with "Alt", V knows some of her power and what she could possibly do. As long as V is alive, there is a chance to warn the human race, a chance to make "Alt" a known enemy. Not an enigma striking from the shadows with coded legions, a terror that can't be seen. "Alt" needs V dead or else her plans could be destroyed by what she has seen V accomplish. She's scared of him for his accomplishment over the impossible. She may be one with the Net, but V has shown an apptitude for being able to make the impossible possible.

"Alt" sees him as, maybe not an equal, but as a darned helluva threat to her potential conquest. Imagine if V manages to get the Free States and the NUSA to come together as a unified alliance, the best Netrunners, coders, scientists, everybody that could throw a brick at "Alt" working together. She'd face a sizable threat. Now imagine if these people worked together with corps like Zetatech and Militech sponsering them in creating an active and aggressive Blackwall, let's call it "Deathbringer" to make it easier to understand.

If Militech and Zetatech join together with the NUSA and Free States governments to employ V's gathered group of talented Netrunners etc. They could make Deathbringer, an AI that could wage war as the vanguard against the Wild AIs, "Alt", and their coded legions to decimate them with the military forces acting as virtual cavalry. "Alt" could be challenged and even killed. She's scared of this, she knows V has the ability to make this dreaded possibility real.

Now, I know the common recant, "if an AI like Deathbringer is created it would be so powerful it could turn on it's creators." Now that would be true, except for an endplan. Imagine Deathbringer coded to feed off of the Wild AI as a stabilizing power unit, once they all are gone thinkof a thermus with boiling water in it. Jostle it around enough and BANG, the thermus explodes from the rising pressure, this could be done to Deathbringer. It is coded to absorb the power of Wild AIs as a stabilizing unit, once there are no more Wild AIs,the power in Deathbringer begins to turn volitile and EMPs the Net.

This would be a controlled Bartmoss, people would know it's coming and would be detached from the Net so the EMP sweeps over them unharmed. The Second Net Crash would be completed with the Second Net being wiped clean of all dangerous AIs. All good ones might be able to be sealed up in servers severed from the Net, like Delamain, keeping them safe. With the Second Net wiped, a Third Net could be created with better knowledge.

This could be more controlled AI through a "Life Code", if you will. A code that keeps AI active and, when the people holding it are gone (ie dead or killed), the AI goes dormant. It would take one rediscovering the Life Code to reawaken the AI. This would create a more secure Net where a Blackwall may never be needed, a second "Alt" could possibly never again exist.

"Alt" is an incredibly intelligent and dangerous AI, one with an agenda. An agenda that I fully believe involves her waging a Net War as a veiled threat so that, even though huma0kind strikes out, they don't know where to strike. Thus they strike at the legions without seeing the figure behind them. A war that could see the victory of the Wild AIs, a victory that would spell doom for humanity, destined to be puppets and toys to dangerous forces.
