I'd love to see Lucy, or even Falco, in the expansion… as they're the only ones alive. A CDPR-style realistic rendition of them in-game would be so cool. Lucy would be automatic waifu.
My guess is that the data they're trying to recover is related to their immortality projects. It could be that they were on the verge of perfecting their immortality tech but Datakrash stopped them from finishing the project.
Could be a bunch of things. I was reading a data shard while playing today that said something like the old net contains mountains of untapped resources. Arasaka could be after those.
