They coulda added different outcomes in this depending on your life path. Nomad is the more neutral option where what we already know happens happens, corpo has Oda more cooperative and street kid could be where V acts on impulse and they force Oda to take them to Hanako in a battle in the alley. What you choose affects your relationship with Goro who wished not to fight.
This is definitely one of those situations where using a Corpo specific line on a corpo security officer should have changed the outcome of the future. Each role should have unlocked more avenues and even blocked you from some depending on the situation.
