onto the Oculus Quest 2 with Oculus Link to continue playing Cyberpunk 2077 and encountering Hideo Kojima in VR. This is a 3D capture so don your HMDs and come along. The Quest 2 Oculus Link hits a barrier at 2K, the data cable cannot compete with a dedicated PC VR headset with HDMI
2 and or Display Port. The G2 was handling 5K. The capture skips frames and is at a lower res, on the Quest 2 it is silky smooth at 2560 by 1600 using the RTX 3090. However the main issue as you are charging whilst using and wearing your battery on your face, you literally cook in it… major sweat … not pleasant for long term play ( wireless would run just as hot as the wifi radio cooks you… these are HMD design mistakes 101, but it’s not like they’d hire me to fix them). Oculus Quest 2 + Oculus Link cannot compete with enterprise or professional PC VR though it is touted as a competitor any enterprise user will prefer lighter more powerful and more comfortable experiences … some actually cheaper and free from the Facebook ecosystem altogether. Tells me Oculus FUBAR dropping the PC VR option. I mean this is just a couple of hours in a game
