  1. Great comparison, when I finally get around to buying and playing cyberpunk I guess Ill have to try both to see. Ideally Id love to see cyberpunk play like half life alyx lol.🙂

  2. I was quite happy with the vorpx mod. But somehow after pausing the game for a few weeks , full vr isn't working anymore. The game is in EdgePeak Mode all the time and I cannot toggle to full vr. The toggle function for EdgePeak / Full Vr was on (pressing down) the right thumbstick of the xbox controller . But it doesn't work anymore. Any hints for me?

  3. great video PD and I agree with your conclusion. I think i will install vorpx mod first and test it out using my standard xbox one controller.
In your video you say the luke ross mod is a little smoother but watching the gameplay it looks like the fps is dropping a little lower than it did with vorpx. Is this the case or does it just appear that way in the recording?

  4. Very good comparison and I agree almost entirely with your comments and conclusions. I have probably 10 hours now with both mods. I think the Luke Ross mod is well worth the price of admission and of course you have access to his other mods. I also have many hours in Horizon Zero Dawn with Luke's mod in vr.

  5. Thanks PD, always appreciate your vorpx content. Since I have pretty much the exact same rigs. I was wondering if you could post the framerate or gpu overhead between the two versions? Especially in this medium resolution settings. Just knowing Luke’s is “a little smoother” makes it hard to know if it’s worth it. Knowing how much smoother / performant would be very helpful on deciding to purchase lukes from patreon or not. Thanks.

  6. Just a little heads-up that playing the vorpX mod with motion controllers and gestures works fine out of the box. You can switch between two mapping sets with the left grip button. There is no need to configure anything.
Make sure to go to the tutorial slides once when the game start. Stuff like that is explained in the slides.

  7. Not a fan of the driving motion controls. Way too sloppy. All of the buttons are there and its quite easy one you get used to them. Its hard to go back to using the pancake-pad now.

No mention of the gun face in the luke mod.

Also aiming with the luke mod is a bit harder because the gun is only aligned in your right eye. I have to close my left to see the crosshair properly.

Good video. overall. Can actually see your hands on this one.

  8. So I have a 2060 laptop with a mid range cpu( not ideal setup for cyberpunk vr right? WRONG) I am using the in game DLSS (balanced) with the resolution at default 2000 something by 2000 something. Normally I had to drop down the resolution from in game and in oculus device settings to be kind of playable.. What I did was I download openvr fsr moded file from github thankfully when I replaced the Luke's openvr with the fsr one it worked now I have my quest rendering in the last option 1.4 for me. And DLSS at balanced at Luke's Ross default resolution but with low settings it's crisp and steady fps I hope I helped someone who wands to play the game on an "older" rig. But even for people with great PCs the open vr fsr file will bring huge difference try it guys!

  9. I played the free Vorpx mod and motion controls just not there for me. Switched to mouse and keys and it was a little better. Still, I prefer flat or pancake if you're playing on hard and playing the whole gamer. Try the mod for sure but temper your expectations.

  10. thanks bud, the vorp looked better on screen to me even with lower res, the one from Luke looked good but very jittery but saying that it could be due to the capture card.

  11. I think this would be good at 120fps but 72fps looks like 36fps with fps cap turned off. I think 4080ti owners will have a good time though. Snap turning would have made it 100% playable though on my 3080.

  12. How do you play without the game being all jittery? What are your FPS? I find it puzzling to me. Someone just lend me an oculus Rift CV1, the old one lol so lower res than yours, and my 3070 ti will not give me more than 60-70 fps with Vorpx mod whatever the details are Low or Medium or even higher. Not ideal at all. It works (although the CV1 seems so low res it's just not that enjoyable to be honest…) but it's choppy. I find it puzzling how people achieves good enough FPS with even a 3090 at this rate for VR to be viable, which it is apparently

  13. Great video. I was debating on which mod to use. Tried them both, the Luke Ross mod is easier to see the in game huds for me. VorpX they are blurry and out of view.

  14. I tried VorpX after watching this video and it didn't work very well with my Pimax 8KX headset so I uninstalled it, now 70% of my native VR games will not load and can't find a solution to fix it other than formatting my machine, I wish I never installed it!!!

  15. I think I may be alone in my extreme dislike of console controllers. Luke Ross mod works fine with mouse + keyboard though I may try vorpx, because actually slashing with a katana is always fun and pistols should work well with the quest controller.

  16. hello, I have the GOGgalaxy version and the game only works on the screen, do I have to switch something somewhere? does the vr mod support this version? I have valve index. thanks for the answer.
