  1. i installed a bluray drive in my laptop, bluray movies can't be read via VLC without first installing some strange things in the C drive lmao, this is completely out of reach for the average Joe, so ye bluray for PC is a dead end unless they stop this drm bs

  2. It's a decision one must do. Get a extremely expensive PC to play Cyberpunk 2077 now, or wait a few years for consoles (and games) to catch up (or overcome) and enoy those eventually. Although Cyberpunk will always stand as extremely timeless and futurelooking game.

  3. Back in the old day, the PS3 could have bonus content and DLC on disc, like videos etc and it would be a seperate menu item in XMB. Sony are the masters at taking 1 step forward 2 steps back.

  4. Would’ve been willing to spend the extra money on the PS5 disc version, but after learning that not everything is included on the disc, I’m just going to get the $20 PS4 version and install the free upgrades.

Even if I decide to get Phantom Liberty afterwards, I’ll end up spending less money than the ultimate edition.

Sony’s hurting CDPR’s wallet, but it’s not my responsibility to make up for it.

  5. Gamers simply cannot win:
PC – Games usually launch broken or somehow worse off than their console counterparts.
PS5 – Typically decent versions of games, but Sony has far less ideal features built into their console. Exclusives are hit and miss, depending on how much you like moviegames.
Xbox – Tons of really great quality of life, and user friendly features built into the console… but no exclusives to speak of.

  7. There is nothing Ultimate about an Ultimate Edition of a game, when it's missing data. Sony wants total control over every single piece of software they sell, whether its a video game or a dvd ultra hd movie. Look guys, we are inching closer and closer towards a future without physical medium. I want everyone here to know that if you truly care about the death of physical medium, whether it be a games or dvd movies, then you need to help out, and stop buying everything digitally. There are millions like myself who have purchased physical copies of games and movies for decades, but it's all about to disappear. This is an easier fix than you think. There is no question about it, that if people just stopped buying games or movies digitally, companies would wake up after hearing on the news that Amazon is out of stock on physical copies of games and movies, that are now on backorder… Companies would have an absolute panic attack. This is their nightmare scenario, and companies would totally freak out. That is the wakeup call, that I want to see these companies witness. Companies simply do not print enough copies to meet that kind of demand, based on the fact that the vast majority of people have been conditioned to buy all digital content. I don't know why people keep going all digital, but just so you know, there are 2 variations of experiencing mediums when it comes to video games and movies. Digital and physical. When you buy a physical copy, you have something tangible, and is something no one can take away from you. Unless you sell it. But, guess what? Companies are trying to stop resale, since Sony and Microsoft look at eBay and do not want you to resell their games, or else they don't make a profit. What about online services shutting down, and delisting everything you purchased? In 10-15 years, you'll be having to hunt on eBay for games that are stupid expensive, and is why emulation is the only route for a lot of folks. No one should have to pay more money for a game, because a company like Nintendo shuts down the Switch eShop. Just this year, both the Nintendo 3DS and Xbox 360 shops shut down, many lost their entire library of games because they purchased digitally. How is this not concerning? You do not need to buy everything digitally, and I'll guarantee you, that once you switch back to physical, you'll appreciate having it in your hands that is still worth something. I am not pointing fingers at anyone here. I am also a PC gamer, which is all digital. I will always buy my games on Steam if a game is available on all platforms. Now, when it comes to consoles exclusives, then I always buy the physical copy. Every single time. I am talking to the majority who own a console like a PS5, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, who do not care about frame rates, and want their games to work right out of the box. It's unfortunate, but typically games run way better on day-one launches for console players, vs PC and it sucks. Doubling or tripling the frames with pretty graphics is nice, but I'll take a console game anyday over a rushed port, and frankly shocked how this is even happening to begin with. PC ports riddled with graphical glitches and crashes, keeps getting worse. If I can't figure out a solution within 30 minutes on PC, I always refund game on Steam and purchase the console version. And, you should too. By refunding a PC game immediately, you are telling companies to do better, and they will do better, if you start to refund games. Do not wait until you hit the 2.5 hours mark before refunding. This is becoming a serious issue, PC ports are not getting the love they deserve, and recommend every PC owner who is running a poorly optimised build of a game to refund it immediately. The moment you find out there is an issue all over, and it's all over YouTube… Don't even think. Refund it. Not only are digitally purchased video games a problem, but I am also asking begging for people who still enjoy movies, to buy the DVD Ultra HD Blu-ray movies. I still buy all my movies on DVD Ultra HD Blu-ray. No streaming service out there can come close to delivering a perfect picture, and are especially lacking when it comes to audio. I will die on this hill defending DVD Ultra HD Blu-ray movies. There are those who settle with good enough via streaming, and there are those who do not. If you love your movies on DVD and want a perfect picture, I am with you. If you only settle for the best audio, DVD is the only way. Many audiophiles know exactly what I'm talking about. So, what do we do to keep physical medium alive? Stop buying digitally and switch back to physical copies. It can't be more simple. I also request that all video games come with as many disks as required to hold every single bit of data. Remember when Doom released, and required 4 floppy disks? It's was an absolute success, and they were not complaining about at all that it took 4 floppy disks. They sold copies and it became a success story. This is not impossible guys. Sitting here upset, and agreeing that the death of physical medium sucks, and the next second you purchase something digitally, is not going to change anything. Sure, this will require a global effort, but with your help, while also spreading the word that physical copies are the way to go, this could take off and go viral. If it goes viral, I promise you that this could be settled within a month if social media catches a whiff of just how important physical medium is. Companies are testing the waters right now, and it does not look good. Again, this physical medium disaster does not have to happen. I'm not asking for you to even drive to pickup a game, although that's still y thing. But, purchasing a physical copy of a game or movie on Amazon, 100% counts, and you will receive them On Launch Day. So, unless you are dying to play a game, or watch a new movie released at the strike of midnight, just order the game on Amazon, and when you come home the next day from work, that game or movie will be right there waiting for you at your doorstep.

  8. Digital is the best way to preserve games, I get to play arcade games from 40 years ago arguably better as well with tech like G-sync.When you guys in your 20s now get to 50 and want to play your old games, unless you're a collector digital is best way and tech like AI will make your old games look better than the original, like AI image enhancement does now to old movies.

  10. The use of AI is like “When all you have is only a hammer, everything is a nail”. In place of a formal statistical study of a phenomenon, for a real understanding of a phenomenon, try AI and you are good to go.
