Welcome back folks. Have you ever wondered why it looks so slow when driving at 200 miles per hour ? well now you know why. Lets get to it.
Distance measured 1.4K
All cars at top speed to prevent fluctuation in speed
Timed using stopwatch from CHOOH2 Sign.

Excellent video. The speed being a complete lie had been bugging me for a while. I had no idea they were lying about how fast you were going to this extent.
Watchdogs is even worse.
its just freeroam physics. its so u dont go from one side of the map to the other in like 2 seconds but u still have a sense of speed
It makes sense now, seeing this, why so many people commented on my 'fastest bike in Cyberpunk' video. They were livid about it being 'not very fast' and they .. were correct.
You deserve more subscribers man, great video!
You should do this in metric as the distance to the next checkpoint is in km but your car readout is mph
I knew it
my theory it's slowing you down to load the world. remember this game was made while making the engine it wasnt kojima where he kept delaying mgs 5 to complete the fox engine. so you're not going the speed of the car. more the speed of the world loading
Yeah I noticed this immediately. "200 km/h" you will not take so long to travel 3 km as in Cyberpunk. 🤣 Clunky.
That was clear that the speeds are not real. First of all, as you mentioned, it's because of asset streaming limitations on HDDs. There's also a gameplay design choice behind it I think. The city is populated – especially corpo plaza usually has a heavy traffic – and the streets are complex which makes it hard to drive. Then imagine having three times more speed.
ya know its funny but I don't really even care. probably because I just drive around like in real life to immerse my self in the world, so when I do speed up for what ever reason I don't even notice how slow it is.
Interesting, reminds me of podracers for the n64
