The fact that this isn't the only NPC to have a conversation that has NOTHING to do with the main character shows the ridiculous amount of work put into this game.
Messed up part, is that the guy is making the smart choice in this setting. If the Corpo has enough money to dump into his account casually every month, and has connections to the gangs, the dude is off-limits. Cause even if he kills that Corpo, that now means a corporation plus a gang are out for him. Which in the world of Cyberpunk likely means that they'll not only kill him, but kill everybody even remotely connected to him for good measure, and it won't even be out of fear but just because it's cheaper than having to replace more of their men if someone else comes for more revenge on them.
Kind of a stretch but is this an official prologue to a Side Gig in the area? Similar story. Daughter gets run over, corpo gets a slap on the wrist, father takes money they paid him off to hire V. V canonically shoots the corpo while they try to outbid the contract. A good time is had by all?
I HATE the losers that say that shit, and how it's in every fucking media.
"They wouldn't have wanted that!" Are you effing serious? If someone lost their ONE LIFE I'm pretty sure just about anybody would want you to take revenge for them, even the gentlest of people.
