When we meet River, he’s a lifelong cop, but once his badge is taken away, he’s left completely lost. He started life in an orphanage, then joined the NCPD—partly as an act of rebellion, partly hoping the discipline would help him pull his life together. What followed were years of trying to do things by the book and avoiding compromises while working in a compromised system. Now, he’s looking for answers outside that system, realizing his life in blue only delayed a much-needed reckoning with who he really is. Part of this reckoning involves reconnecting with his roots, in particular his sister, who lives in a trailer park along with a group of other Native Americans.
Johnny Silverhand, originally born as Robert John Linder, is a very well-known and influential artist in America. An ex-US military veteran who defined the rockerboy movement to what it is today. He was the lead singer of the band Samurai and one of the most prominent figures that fought against the corrupted US government and the Megacorporations. Johnny concentrates most of his anger to the Arasaka Corporation, due to them kidnapping his girlfriend leading to her supposed death, which may or may not have been his fault. He’s charismatic and quite the charmer. However Johnny is also known to be irrational, impulsive, and a manipulator.
Cyberpunk 2077 is an open-world, action-adventure role-playing video game, being developed and published by CD Projekt RED, scheduled to be released December 10, 2020. The game was announced during the 2012 CD Projekt Red Summer Conference as the official video game adaption of Mike Pondsmith’s pen and paper RPG Cyberpunk 2020. Originally titled Cyberpunk, the 2077 subtitle was added in late 2012.
