Cyberpunk 2077 is as uneven and unfinished as it is captivating and brilliant. As an RPG it fizzles, but as an open world action game it shines with the brightness of a million neon signs. Even with its glaring flaws, Cyberpunk absolutely delivers.

This game is garbage!!!!!! I want my money back!!
Well it sucks that he can't talk about consoles reviews of this game. And to me that makes me think that I shouldn't buy it on a console
Thank you for saying all that stuff around 48:00. I've always felt this same way about games and movies, etc. My favorite games are the ones that pull me in because of their atmosphere, and I don't really care about their technical shortcomings. Like… one of my favorite games is Silent Hill 3. Did that game not have a ton of negatives? — Clunky combat; nonsensical puzzles; it was too short… But what I liked, I really liked.
So it's not better than Witcher 3 then?
Well if you used the old save after the floating gun patch this would not fix it apparently.
Alright, i'm convinced. This game sucks. I'll be saving my money, thank you Skill Up!
This is what you get when you rush games because some people can't just wait. Yes delays suck but I''d rather they wait and release a more polished game.
Hahaha: sit down Judy! Some of these bugs are hilarious. And yes this game should have been postponed at least 6 months or more. It’s not like most of us can play it due to limited availability of new hardware. Hopefully in the next months both issues will be a thing of a past.
This review was so thorough! Thanks for cementing my decision to wait for the game of the year edition before buying. I'm sure it'll be fantastic by then!
@6:20 NO FUCKING WAY IN FUCKING HELL ANY PC OR CONSOLE IS DOING THIS!!!, LOOK AT THAT!!!!
Wow you are the poet among the reviewers. Top quality as usual 👏👍
Looks like reloading is just part of the expierence. All fun and games till you get a corrupt save.
36:20 please tell me she's a Romance Option she would make the Trinity of Cyberpunk Waifus Judy, Rachel, and Evelyn.
A game enjoyable for "top 1% pc hardware."
Enough said
"DLSS is a must for this game."
cries in AMD
But seriously, broken controller support? I was planning to play the whole game with a controller. How the heck could they F that up?
And as for nudity censoring and "who's gonna turn that on?" Well, people like you, SkillUp. Streamers and YouTubers who can't show nudity in their streams.
A great company who tell reviewers they can't see a console build and can only use fancy b roll footage?.This game was originally meant to run on base consoles and it's an absolute unfinished mess
2012?
I thought Cyberpunk was announced in 2016
Game runs like ass on my GTX 970 so i had to refund it.
Bug is unavoidable. Just give them some time
I've been super curious on what has been causing the bugs to be honest. I have my issues with it and a few of them are just plain annoying while I've have had a few that required a reload.
I haven't seen most of the bugs that I've seen in videos, I pretty much never seen T-posing at all let alone this game, physics glitches are more along the lines of an update jump, and then a few basic others. I don't use ray tracing as the game looks great but I can't do with the lower fps.
I can still recommend this game to others on a decent PC, and to not compare it with others.
Edit: from your review it looks like Day 1 Patch did a lot but not enough to get everything as you would like. The one still in the game that is annoy AF is that the NPCs can phase into thing but now they don't phase back out.
40:13 Think about this: Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition had an "Appearance" system, where you permanently unlock the appearance of new gear bought or looted or otherwise obtained – even without needing to save.
XENOBLADE CHRONICLES HAS A BETTER CUSTOMISATION MECHANIC THAN CYBERPUNK
I'm gnna hold off playing this shi until the modders get their hands on it
I'm glad you bring up the right expectations for this game because I feel people were expecting way too much all I wanted was a first person game that has made me feel a wide range of emotions like mass Effect did
I mean this game is what I expected. Unlike Witcher 3 i come with no expectation since i am not a big fan of fantasy world but it really blow my mind. But this time I come in prepare, so all i can say is it meet my expectation but not any surprise
Best review I have seen so far, a review that actually covers all the basic elements of the game and all its key systems and where they fail and succeed, this is what I look for in a review this is what will help me decide whether to jump in now or wait till later or not bother at all especially in these time were budget is so tight that this maybe the only game I get to afford for a few months, thank you Skill Up for proving you can still give an opinion while also being informative
Can I say I was really disappointed when I got the exact same outcome when steathing and knocking out all the enemies when leaving the Arosaka tower. I didn't get spotted or kill anyone when existing the building. I hated that we got the exact same dialog options and especially when the dude tells you "you're covered in blood to wash up" like no, that's literally not possible, maybe during the fall then yeah sure but I wasn't shot once during the escape. I was expecting different dialog options all together… Maybe that's me expecting too much? Idk
The game looks blurry and has forced TAA. Movement is slugish, laggy, unresponsive and clunky. Driving is bad. Rebind keybinds is stupid and not working as axpected. Just don't do it
You know what is a good way to be disappointed ? – set up expectations.
So Basiclly its a beatifull broken mess for pc and a horrible broken mess for console lol.A game that dosnt feel like a game with cars that dont feel like cars story charater not importent.story all over and bugs as big as fallot 76.but it looks nice on a $6,000 pc. But on console it will burn your eyes lol.ill wait when its free on game pass next year for free lol.
That opening really stung. 2012 I had a happy school life and not a broke unemployed mess of one. My copy hasn’t arrived yet but based on player reactions it’s staying on my shelf until they not only fix it but deliver on what they promised.
I had almost no bugs on Day 1. All the bugs in the video here I have never seen.
" As an RPG it fizzles, but as an open world action game it shines with the brightness of a million neon signs."
Too bad it was supposed to be a fucking RPG. So tired of these mediocre FPS selling themselves as RPGs.
I was already calling that would be the case for months and fanboys always came at me with pitchforks talking about how intricate the character creator is and whatnot. Every time people fall for this shit. Enjoy your even worse Fallout 4 lol.
At least the damage control is being fun to watch.
I don’t think the game is playable. It crashes. Too many glitches. It’s a big disappointment. I would wait until it gets fixed if it can be fixed.
"A world full of stories and characters that draw you in and engage you, Cyberpunk 2077 delivers"…WTF? It absolutely does not in the slightest if you go anywhere outside of the main quest. It's chock full of bog-standard "quests" (go kill this crap) with pretty much ZERO characters of note.
Extremely weak and dull perks, with only a few making any kind of a difference, and even then you have to hit level at least level 16 in any attribute before you can access them, and an extremely lifeless world. No idea what all of the reviewers were smoking with their 90/100 scores, but this is like GTA 3 but with worse driving and somehow an even duller world. Yeah, it certainly LOOKS nice, but that's absolutely the only thing the game has going for it. They hyped up Night City, but it's not even worth exploring. The main quest is the only thing worth bothering with, and the cracks show quickly enough. Somehow they managed to make an "RPG" that has even less options than TW3 did for character customization, and that game was severely lacking already in that department. Most of the skills and gear in that game were superfluous, and while the world itself was rather dull too outside of the towns and cities, it at least felt way more alive than this shit.
The "player choice" is just an illusion in this too. More often than not, any time it seems like you have a choice, you're still forced to pick a specific option to progress the dialogue if that wasn't already your choice. I was expecting GTA + Deus Ex in a fantastic looking city, and all we got was the city. Even Watchdogs is better than this overall.
Crafting is always one of those things that seems to be hard to balance. You either craft god-gear that makes all the normal items in the game worthless or it's not even worth investing the skill points into.
I was sure i was gonna pick this up on launch day but for one, i own a bottlenecked, gtx970 "powered" pc that sure as hell won't run this properly from what i've seen. And then all the bugs and balance issues really put me off. Guess i'll get it whenever i buy a PS5 if i can find one next year.
take a good lesson, never ever preorder the games
This game's horrible, buggy launch should NOT be excused because "iT'S cDpR tHeY'rE thE sAviOUrs oF gAmiNG!!!". If Cyberpunk 2077 was a Ubisoft game with that much bugs/glitches at launch nobody would've even attempted to defend them.
What this launch has taught me is that gamers are hypocrites. They'll tolerate things they apparently hate in one game and but will tear another game apart if it has the exact same things but come from a publisher they don't like. I still to this day think that The Witcher 3 was a grossly overrated game and had lots of flaws that needed to be addressed and as I rightly guessed, they weren't in Cyberpunk 2077. Because people praised CDPR so much they didn't actually know what they were doing wrong and right.
And now the same shit is happening with Cyberpunk 2077. Gamers will pardon them for literally releasing a broken, buggy game at launch and CDPR will realize that their fanbase is so braindead they could do anything and the majority of people will defend them. Just watch, I'm predicting that if Cyberpunk 2077 is heavily criticized like it deserves to be, the next Witcher game CDPR has said they're working on will be released in an even more broken messy state.
If you start as a nomad you can see a map the shows the texas is a republic.
MODs!!! I have NO real long term worries because I spent 50 quid on an engine that will be modded like crazy as the game gets patched and updated so I can maximise my fukkery in Night City. 1st run is Non Lethal NOMAD on Hard because the gunplay seems too easy, but the lack of hackable stuff Skill Up mentions is a concern.
Whats also a concern is the final pitch for you to buy a 3080 so you play the game at it's best….ooooff. If the bugs are so bad, and most people should wait a year, why are you touting a GPU that costs a fortune? Im on a 4790K and 2070super and hitting 60fps. On a LGC9 it is stunning to play, so if I were to do what you suggested Skill Up, I'd have to buy a whole new PC. Is Cyberpunk really worth spending £1500 on to experience exactly what your review has just discussed?
It gave me a very odd feeling watching that pitch, the very first alarm bell I've had watching any of your vids.
Looks great but think I’ll wait a few months for the bugs to be ironed out.
Things I would love to have put in the game or slight change.
The Minimap needs to have a zoom option, like why isn't this a thing.
The weapon select wheel needs to be easier to use with the mouse, either have the selector be where you move the mouse to or to be able to use some keys to move between the options.
The pathfinder needs some work.
The walk toggle needs to be a keyboard thing.
Why isn't there a single button to just put your weapon away? Alt just changes the weapons not put them away.
There are more but I'm still enjoying my time.
I feel a new game + would help alot of these skill tree issues that u felt unused
8 years of profesional developement and there are still a lot of problems, for a GAME…
Imagine AI and quantum computers in future managing our daily lives…
Lord have merci!
needed more time in the cooker ide say
So what I am realising is: CD Project Red was the one company I felt confident trusting with my pre-order. And apparently I was wrong, there are NO pre-orderable games.
I dont know if anyone explained, but in order to have the max 20 in a skill, u have to have 20 in the respective attribute. Every skill level will cap at the maximum attribute corespondent to it…so, if u have 20 in Cool, u can have 20 in stealth…etc
Imagine my shock that it's basically mediocre.
