With Phantom Liberty, Cyberpunk 2077 has joined the ever-growing list of games that have made remarkable comebacks after less-than-ideal launches. The expansion is some of the best content CD Projekt RED has ever produced, shining brightly thanks to its captivating story, excellently written and performed characters, significant improvements to its progression and customization systems, and consistently thrilling combat and stealth gameplay, among a host of other improvements.

Phantom Liberty finally makes good on the lofty promises that CD Projekt RED made for the Cyberpunk 2077 base game for so long, by not only being an excellent chunk of new content in and of itself, but being so good that it even uplifts the entire base game to altogether new heights as well.

  2. As someone who started playing Cyberpunk on a decent PC rig a year after release (and wasn't honestly much of a gamer during the hype phase), my experience with this game has been nothing but positive. It is incredibly immersive, the story is engaging, the characters are well-developed with believable dialogue, the side missions have real choices and consequences that aren't black and white and often backfire against the player's intentions (a good thing in my opinion), each playstyle is wildly different and fun to mix and match, the aesthetic and overall vibe hits me on a deep level, the graphics set a high bar to this day, and Night City itself is astoundingly intricate and dynamic. I really wish CDPR had waited and more thoroughly play-tested their game before releasing it so that every player could have shared in my astonishment. Hopefully this DLC and update can inspire the skeptics to give this game another chance, and if not, then maybe CDPR execs and marketing wing can rise to the level of their developers and writers next time around instead of pulling a three-quarters-baked game out of the oven.

  3. I played it on PS4 and got through it with some crashes(and got my money back after completing it) played it again on PS5 for a discount and it was great. Just a shame the main story is so short. Looking forward to this and I’m sure the sequel will be great

  4. I am bummed they didn’t add a third person mode but whatever more content is nice but not buying this till it goes on sale. Game doesn’t have much replay value and just becomes OP gunplay Vs the CPU. This DLC will churn out about 10 hours then your back to the same OP gunplay clips of killing brain dead NPC’s

  5. I keep seeing gameplay that showcases Hud free gameplay(No health bars above enemies)but this wasn't possible in the original release. At least not without Mods. Can you finally switch them off now???
